Gator fans, after getting our butts kicked back to back by LSU and Bama who do you think is the best team and who wins the big game between them?

I think LSU has a better defense, offenses are equal, special teams won't be a factor, coaches are equal. Bama wins with home field advantage in a classic.

I would definitely be interested in hearing the opinions of the Florida posters.

Home field advantage in the LSU/BAMA series has always been misleading. LSU is 10-5 in Tuscaloosa over the past 15 games.

We can comment since we played both back to back and should be able to compare what we saw, right?

Disagree. This is the one area where I see a clear difference between the teams.

I watched the Bama game on TV but was at the game in BR. LSU's defense looked faster than Bama's and just as physical.

That's a good question.

It's not a fair comparison without Brantley (never thought I'd say that) so I honestly don't know who is better.

We'll find out soon enough thought.

I'm with Dlvs on this. Bama's kicker looks good with his shirt off, but kicks like a prepubescent girl. LSU has wing who will pin you deep and put you on your heels. Return game I'll give an edge to Bama, but LSU has excellent gunners in Mathieu and Brooks. Blue is really getting into the groove on the coverage team as well.

FG's is about even

So...

Punting - LSU
Returns- Bama
Coverage - push
FG- push
Kickoffs- LSU

Valid point. Last year the Tigers sacked and harrassed JB quite a bit but he did have some success. This Tiger defense is better than last year, especially the Dline. Remember that Montgomery was injured and lost for the balance of the season prior to the Florida game a year ago. My opinion is that Brantley would have taken several sacks that the young freshman was able to avoid with his quick feet.

Alabama is.

In fact, it's an easy win. I look for the third-string to see plenty of playing time in the third-quarter against LSU.

Alabama = slightly stronger front 7
Running games are = maybe slight edge to Bama
LSU = slightly stronger secondary
LSU = much stronger kicking game
LSU = better at QB

Going to be a good game. I think LSU wins behind their experienced QB and stronger kicking game.

LSU's worst team in this decade took a 11-1 Alabama to overtime in 2008.

Mike Shula took LSU to overtime in 2005.

IF you think this is going to be anything but a slobber knocker, you are insane.
