It'll ruin the Iron Bowl.

Possibly, but it also means that there can be 2 iron bowls if you both make it to the SEC championship.

We still play them every year. What would change?

For one thing the game would not be the last game of the season. It would have to be, at the latest, three weeks earlier than it is now.

Secondly, from a Bama standpoint, you would quite possibly lose the annual game against Tennessee.

Right now the Iron Bowl is the "One Big Game" that everyone in Alabama talks about all year long. It is more anticipated than the SECCG. It's a HUGE deal for the whole state. If there's a chance we may play twice, it's just not the same.

I have alabama friends that live in Alabama that went to Alabama. They hate Auburn sure, but they're also not lunatics.

What about her state?

If you meant this state then you are wrong. I spent three years in Birmingham listening to you fools bicker amongst yourselves 365 days a year because college football is all you have.

Fools refers to the fools on the sidewalk mostly. Most of the actual grads I met from both schools were civil to each other.

Wow! That doesn't even compute. I think it's better that everyone understand that the the biggest most important game should be the SECCG. You guys need to grow up. I really don't see how it hurts your precious little rivalry anyway.

Not saying all are lunatics and would hurt someone, but I'm seeing more and more sign of people taking it too far.

It will never happen, but I think it needs a break. This was JMO.

Correct, which is why many grads on both sides would like this thing to break and cool down. We love our schools and don't like all the negative pub. The sidewalk crazies like updykes are the reason and they make up the majority.
