Finebaum just interviewed the author of this article from the New York Times and said he made Les sound likable.

Finebaum actually said at one point that he might lighten up on Les the next time he is asked about him.

If that fluff piece article is the best the LSU PR team can do for Miles, then they had less to work with than we all thought.

FWIW - the post was not intended to be about the article - it was about the interview and Finebaum's reaction during the interview.

And this is the problem with finebaum. He doesn't know jack shite. Sit him in a room with Les Miles and he probably kisses his arse the whole time he's there.

But he doesn't do that.

What he does do is base his "opinions" entirely on what other people tell him and runs from there.

It's so typical. Any other "reporter" or member of the news media would have said they'd "go easy" on Les Miles the next time they asked him questions, either postgame or otherwise. Not finebaum, though. He's just going to go easy next time he decides to talk garbage about The Mad Hatter.

Miles strikes me as a someone who is not all there mentally. Just listening to the man talk makes me think he suffered fetal alcohol syndrome.

My bad. I could give a flip about what Finebaum thinks. I was more interested in the article. I thought it was another nail in his coffin. LSU gets the NYT to write a sympathy piece about Miles and the guy has to bring up the fact that Miles has a family to think about (big news). And he mentions the huge buyout left on his contract and the fact that the only positive he can really point to is his record. More or less that he would be gone except for those two things.

IMO the article doesnt make Miles look sympathetic, or do anything to change people's opinion that he isn't a very good game manager.
