What does the Rant think about Tex, OK, Ok St. etc going to the Pac 16 and how it will effect recruiting mainly for schools such as LSU and Ark?
LSU already does well in the Houston area but do you think we can do even better now that a kids family my have to travel to Cali or Oregon to see them play?

To be honest....this is a really good question and it actually has something to do with the SEC.

Yeah I think it could really help Ark out and def LSU. Then again I guess it could go the other way with some kid from Ark wanting the chance to play out west once a year at an Ok St. vs Oregan game. Should help Ark lock up the state more though, IMO.

It's pretty difficult to judge how it'll reflect our recruiting. I'm like you....it could hurt us on some recruits and it could help us with some recruits.

Why do you think it will help every school? I can see the neighboring schools but a UGA or a Fla. isn't much closer to Austin than say Arizona St.

Count me in as believing it will help recruiting. It would really help if they took just Texas and aTm because they are pretty much taking the entire Big12 south and they can sell that they are playing the Texas and Okie schools that matter to the recruits.
I think it will help LSU tremendously in talent rich eastern Texass and will help Arkansas in North Texas and Oklahoma.

Will do nothing but help the Hogs. It also has the right coaching staff that actually recruits players far and wide. I've always said that with the right coach the Hogs can and will attract players from all over the country. Not every player wants to stay close to home or play in the PAC ? or the Big ? and the University of Arkansas has a lot to offer.

Yeah I can see it really helping out Ark and LSU. Guess it really depends how well the coaching staffs sell staying close to home. USC's post season ban and lack of scholarships is really going to help Tex and the rest of the new PAC-16.
If USC loses their nationwide appeal and is forced to recruit closer to home it is really going to open things up on the recruiting trail. Everyone seems to forget from 1980 to 2001 USC was irrelevant and hopefully these sanctions can help put them back that way.

SEC recruiting will be mostly unchanged probably
And rarely will any teams from OK or Texas have to go to Cali, Oregon, or Washington
