Terrance Toliver (0) 9 86 1 9.6
Brandon LaFell (0) 6 67 1 11.2
Trindon Holliday (0) 2 32 0 16.0
Rueben Randle (0) 1 31 0 31.0
Keiland Williams (0) 1 20 0 20.0
Deangelo Peterson (0) 1 14 0 14.0

Rushing
Russell Shepard (0) 6 71 1 11.8
Jordan Jefferson (0) 12 26 1 2.2
Charles Scott (0) 10 20 0 2.0
Trindon Holliday (0) 2 8 0 4.0
Keiland Williams (0) 1 4 0 4.0
If you take out Shepards 69 yard run. LSU had no success on the ground. The game was well in hand before that run.
I just do not see how LSU can have that much success passing with that little success running against us. Auburn is the 89th defense against the run in the country we are 2nd.

If LSU wins its because of these guys, and the Defense.

"If you don't think about that gunshot, did you enjoy the play Mrs. Lincoln?"

How stupid is it to 'take out' the biggest play from scrimmage? I see this a lot. I just don't get it.

If you remove ONE field goal that Bama made, UT won. See how goofy that sounds?

Ehh, the Bama fan has a point. It'll be tough to beat Bama if we don't get a running game going. FWIW, some of our rushing yards - or lack of - against AU are because of sacks taken. The problem is that we have too many backs that we are predicatable. Scott = up the middle, Holliday or Williams = Outside run. That's why Scott's numbers are terrible, because we run him up the middle every time.

I really hope Shepard gets more carries at RB, he can turn the game around and I really think it will help our running game with him and Scott on the field at the same time.

Jefferson is great on designed QB draws/running plays, we need use him more too. Too bad he sucks running the option

Regardless of what the stats say LSU will be up for this game. Bama won't. Kind of like when Bama didn't get up for UT. No way in hell Jasper misses 3 FG's in a game...

Wha? Because a passing and rushing attack are the same thing.

Lyger68, Pretty idiotic to think that Bama won't be up for this one. It's pretty much a west division/12-0 record into the SECCG clinching game at home. Plus Saban will always want to beat LSU plain and simple.

Go back and watch the tape. Auburn decided that LSU was not going to run the ball easily, so they stacked the box on many occasions, forcing LSU to pass frequently. Yes, everyone wanted LSU to run the ball, esp. against a bad defense like Auburn, but you sometimes have to take what the defense gives you. That is something that LSU has not done until last week.
Oh, and Russell is sorry for being so fast!

They better take advantage of this off week; LSU seems to be peaking and will be fired up for this game.

Not scoring a TD will likely = loss for Bama against LSU.

LSU has not been able to run the ball effectively all year due to their poor line blocking.

I think we will be. Our players know a win here and we punch our ticket to Atl officially. No doubt either team will be up for it.
It is shocking your receivers put up those numbers without a real running attack.

All the shite talkin from kiffin didn't inspire Saban, and you think LSU is going to motivate him. I doubt that very much.

You think Saban is possibly motivated by the fact that we are contending for a national championship?

T. Toliver 7 34 442 13.0 3 45 63.1
Brandon LaFell 7 33 393 11.9 6 58 56.1
That is great balance. They have great size as well. Our dbs vs those two receivers will most likely be the biggest match up of the game. We will most likely not give up many rush yards. But even if we do shut down your running game big bodies like that can still hurt us. I think if we can get a draw between our dbs and your receivers we will win the game.

Agreed.

Should be a great game. I look forward to it.

I will say this: IF the game ends with a great play by Robbie Green defensing a pass to save the victory by Bama....I am NOT coming to this site for 2 weeks.

Wow. A Bama poster giving our receivers some respect. Last year Lafell was about the 50th best receiver in the league and Tolliver wasn't even mentioned. Throw in Randle and you have a pretty goood set of receivers that would stack up with any team in the country (IMO). The key is giving Jefferson time and him having patience. It will be very difficult for us to run the ball against Bama. I believe your front seven is best in SEC.

Teams want to stack the box and play man against our receivers. That is what happened and we took some sacks that hurt the rushing stats. I think if Jefferson is actually on his game there is no way you can stack the bow because there isn't a defense in the league that can man up on Lafell, Toliver, and Randle in that case. That will eventually open up the running game. A lot of it has to do is breaking through and making a play. I have seen Bama get bottled up and then have a running back break tackles(or guys just suck at tackling) and make some big gains. LSU just hasn't had as many of those happen this year. It is kind of suprising also because LSU still has next level talent in the backfield that has done it in the past.

This is why I think Bama has the edge in the game. I feel their running game will hold on to the ball for long stretches and not allow Jefferson into a rhythm. Close game in the 4th when a costly turnover leads to an easy Bama TD. 24-14 Bama.

Isn't LSU one of the better teams in regards to TOs?
