They drafted WR Mike Wallace at pick 84.

Is going to be one of the surprise picks in the draft. I'm as worried about losing him as Oher. I know that sounds crazy, like really crazy, but Wallace was on another level at the end of the season.

Why are y'all so certain he's a can't miss prospect?

This is the other extreme. I don't believe he'a a can't miss prospect (I don't think any pick is a "can't miss prospect"). He catches well, he ran a 4.28 40, and if we would have had anything close to a quarterback before Snead, he would been picked much higher. He's a very good kick returner and gets into the end zone quite a bit.

To say that he will never see the field, however...is a bit ridiculous.

Joe Haden (UF/CB) said he was the fastest WR he has ever seen...

I agree.

Wallace will be starting kick returner.

I think Wallace will help the Steelers in kick returns and such, but saying the Super Bowl champs got better with a third round pick is a little over the top. You just never know with draft picks. He may have an out of this world year, or never be a factor.

How do you figure?

Are you basing that opinion on his rookie season stats--where he shared the field with Holmes, Ward, and Miller?

I think that Sweed will turn out to be a good WR. Cut the guy a break, he's on a running team with a hands corps that is pretty solid.

Bad hands... too many drops in his limited amount of opportunities. He's only a 2nd year player now so he can get better, but he failed on several sure TDs last year. The Steelers wouldn't have drafted Mike Wallace if they thought Sweed was a beast, would they?

They drafted Wallace to be Nate Washington's replacement as a deep threat after Washington signed with the Titans in the off-season.

Isn't that the point of the draft, to make your team better?

OK, so the Steelers will only use 3 WRs the whole year. That could be problem for them. Mike Wallace will see the field.
