Thought I had read it wasn't UPD. That it was some rent a cop.

That being said I haven't really looked into it so I dunno.

I don't get why the only reason people seem to care is bc the guy is a veteran.

It wasn't upd. It was a cop from new Albany. Multiple witnesses said the guy was being a disturbance. Was it excessive? Probably. Is the cop always the bad guy? No.

Ole Miss cops hired them. Ole Miss will be liable, not New Albany.

because that's the only reason a lot of people would care...

and dude looked like he was resisting. Shitty video though so it's difficult to tell what really happened.

Guy was drunk . Had been harassing two kids and was asked to stop . He didn't . They called security . Resisted arrest

I think it's just a subtle way of justifying defending a white guy.

Those videos always just conveniently start when it looks like the officer is doing something wrong. Rarely show the lead up to the situation to know if it was warranted or not.

There is pretty decent evidence from people that were around him that it was in this case.

Yeah it seems like a lot of typical spin. Take every publicly-perceived negative, throw in a "Veteran" as a victim, and all of sudden the outrage commences.

The reality is that this guy is probably started the whole thing and deserved what was coming to him.

Is there a chance the police overreacted? Maybe, but I personally don't want cops going easy on dangerous people at football games, but to each his own.

It's pretty fricking simple: follow orders.

Hell he's a veteran, right? He should know this. I don't care if it's a mall cop or the President himself. If someone of authority tells you to do something, do it.

fwiw....while I respect anyone that serves in any capacity....

when you think of the term veteran, you think of someone enlisted in the Army or Marines kicking sand in the middle east.

....and not a national guardsman like in this particular case.

He should've been kicked out for belligerent behavior but the guy didn't deserve to be punched in the face and have his orbital bone broken
