Other than the names already listed, Moore twins, Sean Rawlings, Derrick Jones, Cody Core, Pierce Burton, Serderius Bryant, Cody Prewitt, Denzel Nkemdiche, Senquez Golson, Jeff Scott, Charles Sawyer, Emmanuel McCray, Brandon Bolden, HR Greer, Jason Jones.

Bolden (.8444), Engram (.8435), Scott (.8451), and Serderius Bryant (.8345) would probably be my top 4 since 2008.

In last year's class I think we'll look back and say Woods, Howard and Curtis were the most underrated in that class.

I always considered him overrated - I don't recall him making any significant plays or sacks in big games (albeit he played on a few shitty teams), but he also played on some loaded defenses (2007).

I don't think we'll miss him too much - more of a fringe starter with decent physical attributes.

Kendrick Lewis

Agreed, although he played in a loaded secondary (Marshay, Cassius, etc) but he's definitely the best cover/ball-skills safety we've had in recent years.

He infuriated me during the Nutt years, but played solid under Freeze's tenure.

My recent underrated players:

Pierce Burton (we would've been fricked without him in Freeze's first year - Nutt ruined our OL depth)
Ashley Palmer - we haven't had a good LB since him, IMO (due to Denzel's regression)
Vince Sanders - we will miss him this year - he caught everything throw his way last year

Vince Sanders was good, but I don't think he was underrated. He was a composite 4 star which indicates he should be an impact-player, All-American candidate, and display pro-potential.

Ashley Palmer was straight outta Compton.

Agreed - our defense was ridic that year. Still am mad we lost to Vandy @ home that year (Snead threw 4 picks including a pick six).

I think moreso bc of Laquon's presence - plus Engram and Core made a lot of big plays last year it's easy to forget all the 3rd downs Vince converted.

No, like he was actually from there.

That '08 team was terrifying.

I don't think that he was talking about his ability. Palmer was literally from Compton

Denzel was injured and didn't play for most of last season....you can't really call that a regression.

Plus, Serdarius fricking Bryant. How can you say we didn't have a good LB when he played?

I'm aware, Ed O capatilzed on Cali connections. He complimented Trahan, Fein, Cornell very well.

Agreed - really was no weaknesses on the defense other than our other other safety (Charles Clark maybe?).

He has been bleh for 2 seasons even dealing with the injuries.

The games has has played he is not the same player as he was in 2012, where he was dynamic and good.

Denzel is the same player when healthy. He was 2nd team All-SEC in 2012 AND 2013. He was playing behing Serderius last year and got hurt against LSU. If he stays healthy, he will very likely end up as a 2nd team All-SEC player again in 2015.

IDK. We all hope he returns to form, but he has not been anywhere close to 2012 Denzel (making plays, causing TOs, etc). Obviously the injury bug has played a role, but I think this is a big year for him to regain his status.

Obviously the depth @ LB is a huge question mark for the defense (probably the only question mark).

Nope. Dropped a sure pick 6 in the LSU game at their 20, would've put us up 14-3.

Shay Hodge. That was a catch against Bama. Biggest bull shite call of all time.

So many BS things wrong with that play. The main thing that irritated the hell out of me was we ran a damn play AFTER that play. So the refs basically reviewed something that happened two plays ago.
