Matt Luke needs to be canned
We need to find an brilliant OC who can actually do something with this talent
Wommack needs to do something about the defense

Our OL is bad

I don't think Freeze is a great OC but that doesn't fix going for 4th and 1 inside to 40 in that situation... That's on the HC

Our D is soft. I don't know what changed

We've had plenty of time to recruit serviceable OL and RB. This is a shite show.

We have them. The coaching for both units is garbage.

I suspect Freeze will ultimately be like Cutcliffe and destroy himself for the sake of his assistants.

I don't know what kind of money we allocate for assistant coaches, but I can't imagine it would be much of anything.

Part of Hugh's raise last year was money for assistants. So he hired no name Batoon and gave everyone else raises.

But those increases are to be expected.

What are we comparatively? What do we pay our coordinators compared to the top-tier schools in the conference?

Seems like that has more to do with us hiring past their prime retreads and school alumni to fill in the gaps.

If Ole Miss football was a publicly traded company, the stock would be crashing because everyone realizes the CEO is in over his head and doesn't know how to manage a company

Werner and Wommack were retreads when we hired them. I didn't like it then, but in light of the upward trajectory of the team, it seemed alright. Now their inadequacies have been laid bare.

Other than QB coaching, Werner sucks (not that Freeze lets him call any plays-which is a major problem in and of itself-but he's the OC and our offense is atrocious). I don't know what the hell to say about Wommack. He just sucks. Memphis drove at will against us. Regardless of depth issues and injuries, we should have been able to stop them. We didn't.

Werner gets the least amount of grief from me. The guy is just a glorified qb coach, and he does that job pretty well. Made Bo much better than I ever expected and CK had looked good too. Factor in his recruiting of qb's, and we must keep him. How would you like to try to build an offense w/ Matt Luke's oline?

Exactly. Not to mention, how do we know if he is a competent OC when Hugh Freeze is out there calling plays he drew up with glue and macaroni with his daughters.

Offensive production has increased this year. Defensively we have gotten worst on 3rd downs. We lost two all Americans and another to injury.

Werner and Wommack aren't the problem. The problem is no running game. I'm willing to bet our defense has played more snaps than any other team in the conference. Why? Because we can't get off the field on 3rd down and we don't have a running game. When we went up 14-0, it would have been nice to have a long drawn out running game. We just don't have it. Our reserves on the OL should be able to handle Memphis. Its time for a new OL coach. Period.

100% agree. But also, Freeze started playing conservatively after getting up 14-0 in the first quarter with 5 mins left. Has ne not learned no lead is safe?
