One of the best courses for the money is towards Pascagoula but is worth the extra time.

How far we talking? Popular enough place where I should make a tee time tomorrow for next Monday or Tuesday?

Also a really good restaurant is near by

Ive heard of the Half Shell Oyster House. Heard some good things last year. My only problem with Biloxi is that I cannot stand oysters. Raw or fried. Anything else that would be on the menu that is really good?

Mary Mahoney's is sort of the most famous restaurant in the area - its about a mile or so East of the White House across from the Beau.

Famous doesn't always equal good. Is it worth visiting one evening? Business casual dress I assume?

Its a 30 minute or so drive from the White House, but Bay St. Louis is a really cool little town with a busy and quaint downtown area. If you are bringing a wife that's a good dinner/window shopping/strolling around area.

How is Bay of St. Louis post Katrina? I remember seeing it got hit hard. Is it like an old southern type town?

No wife, just a friend with me.

ea the shuckers is a nice venue to go to also. If you have a wife or kids coming alone they have some shows going on at the beau they all will enjoy.

What is Shuckers? No wife and not taking the kiddo. Just a friend coming along.

Tell me about Margaritaville. IT was under construction I think last year when I visited but saw online that they had added a lazy river with some bars and such. Any of you know if you have to be a guest there to access that area?

I'd say Mary's is worth it unless one of the locals says it's gone downhill. They do au gratin seafood real well.

BSL got slammed hard by Katrina but has seemed to come back. Trapanni's rebuilt on the bay and I love their blackened steak tips. The downtown area is a lot like Ocean Springs and hopefully the artists have come back.

Shuckers is the aa baseball team. Margaritaville is fun I went there Friday night for girlfriends bday. She wanted to act like a kid but it's really fun. Half shell does have good food besides oysters.

Can anyone tell me about the filling station? It's been recommended while I'm here but not sure. Reviews online seemed to be mixed.

filling station

To which locale do you refer?
Talking about filling station in Southaven, DeSoto County?

If so not to special, mostly chain restaurants in the area but
Maria's cantina and fillin station to a lesser extent offer a slight change of pace from the franchise blah.

I prefer Memphis Barbecue Company if I'm in the area personally, consistently delicious and offer a variety of options.

Best kept secret as it pertains to BBQ in the Memphis/Desoto co. area. The wings are some of the best I've ever had as well.

The Fillin' Station is overpriced bar food. Nothing special.

Enjoyed yalls state once again. Thanks for all the input.

Ended up playing Bear again this year and the. Played this old course just off the beach call The Great Southern course, or something like that. Was between Biloxi and Gulfport. Wasn't terrible, but it had square greens and that really screwed with my brain.

Went and checked out the new Margaritaville as well. Very surprised by the food. Ate at the Margaritaville restaurant since we have a Doe's in Fayetteville. I was very pleased, just a little loud with the music while trying to have dinner. The arcade was nice as well. Had to wait forever to bowl because only 3 of the six lanes were operating.

Also, there were hundreds of people playing Pokemon go by the light house. I almost hit some kids the first night I drove by around midnight. They just wonder into the road as if we were supposed to stop for them.
