1 goes 5-7, deems this unacceptable. Fires OC & DC
2 goes 5-7, excited about playing in a crappy bowl the day after Christmas.

I have to laugh at #2.

I wouldn't want to go to a bowl game at 5-7. It would be like rewarding our players/coaches for their shite effort this season.

Which one expected to go roughly 5-7 and which expected double-digit wins?

I said the same before we were eligible, but our team needs the practice. We are just incredibly young across the board and things really didn't start coming together until after the Bama game, we knew it was a rebuilding year coming in but are still somehow a fricking kicker from being an 8 win team. The defense specifically needs all the snaps they can get.

There is more to evaluating a staff and team than just the record. 2013 is a good example, we finished at 6-6 but lost some tight games and really grew throughout the season. Looking at the team and the way things are trending, we should have a solid squad for the next few years. Currently the team is vastly superior to the one that took the field in August, despite a metric shite ton of injuries.

Which of the teams actually got better as the season went on? Which got worse? Which teams players played hard throughout the season?

If there is one thing I'll say positive about Mullins, it's that he has them playing hard every game it seems. (Didn't watch USA game so can't comment on that).

Or a little brother thread. When you have to point out what the other is doing to appease your misery you're acting like a little brother.

One did lose their best player to be fair. State got asswholloped by the two teams they played before OM. Beat an A&M team that we beat on the road with a true freshman starting at QB and lost to Kentucky and BYU after getting arse raped by a team we almost beat in Auburn. Think before typing

In a nutshell there were some pretty valid excuses (yes excuses, but nonetheless) for Ole Miss for most of the season between all the injuries and the big leads we gave up to really good teams. But then over the last two weeks all that shite went out the window when our team apparently quit against both Vandy and State. After those two games we no longer had a leg to stand on.

Im not trying to stand on a leg or use excuses for our season. Im pointing out that state didnt get better as the year went on like someone suggested.

I guess I was mostly talking in terms of the way Fitz progressed (at least according to stats). I didnt' watch any of his early season games.

But also to be fair, Fitz was a freshman as well and had no in game experience before the season (obviously). Mullins does have a way with Qb's no denying that.

Also, don't try and tell me our team didn't get worse throughout the season

I didnt. For the third time in this thread, I am saying State didnt get better as the year went on.

State specifically got better from the Bama game on, which jives with the rumor that Fitz won over the team that game after essentially getting the hot shite beat out of him for 4 quarters. Also about the time that Aeris took over the starting RB position. Other positions individually improved all year but that's when the major jump happened and things started to come together.

You have to pull out some serious spin to say they didn't improve over the course of the season.

You played two of the worst teams in the west and the two worst defenses you faced all year in the SEC following Bama and got steamed rolled by one of them. You sure Im the one spinning?

Hypothetically had Chad and Evan played and our offense was able to match your offense and we some how won the game but your offense was just as good as it was and your defense continued to be as bad as it was all season you would not feel you got better losing 6 of your last 8, most in terrible fashion.

Your offense may have gotten better which is understandable when you have a QB in his first year but when you faced a team's starting QB your defense got worse as the year went on. Just because one side of the ball gets better doesnt mean your team got better. Once again, you are saying you got better after facing the worst defenses you faced all year long.

Yall's entire demeanor as a fan base is based on one game, and that one game was against a team who had the worst defense in the league and a backup QB without his best player.
