No, I think most everyone will tell you we aren't happy with how our defense played. We also realize most of those issues are off-season problems. We literally had to have Peters learn CB because we started the season with not jack shite to play there, not being able to contain the passing game reverberates through the entire defense. That snowballs with the obvious tackling work we need to do in the spring.

However, 2 of the last 3 games of the season were much better. Guys were covering their assignments and actually made plays on the ball. There was real tangible improvement across the board. A lot of young guys stepped up and closed really strong. Peters, Leo, Simmons, McLaurin, and Spencer all made huge strides down the stretch.

Offensively there really is no discussion. The team only put up 20 points on South Alabama, compared to scoring 97 points the final two weeks of the season. And as a whole the team played their asses off this year after the opening game, especially down the stretch. There was big picture growth in that aspect, even as bad as the Arkansas game was, nobody quit and they kept pushing.

Regardless, it doesn't matter. Continue convincing yourself we are all thrilled with 5-7 and ignoring the big picture.

I said that because I think he has a bigger impact at LSU, the school who until this point has utilized their RB much much more. For example, in contrast to preferring Akers at OM, I would rather Shea had went to LSU. Because he would have been less of an impact there, in a program that had proved incapable of developing a QB, than he can be at Ole Miss.

From my perspective it's about minimizing the damage, regardless of the name of the schools, because we play both of you every year. I simply think Cam would hurt us more at LSU than he would at OM, so I would rather he sign at OM. Although ideally he signs with FSU.

It's not because I think you're under us or anything like that, I just don't think your offensive system is as conducive to having an outstanding running game as LSU's. Granted, we don't really know what exactly their offense will look like next season.
