If the school had anything on CHF at this point it would use it, as a bargaining tool with the NCAA.
The school knows this was a witch hunt to get rid of Freeze from the start. Without having anything solid on the coach and with his performance as a coach, why would they get rid of him?
This has happened before, find out what they want and unless you as an administration have just cause for firing the coach, you don't give them what they want.
They want CHF gone, the SEC, state and the NCAA. People do not like his faith based approach so they will attack him.
If he survives this the next step will be the ACLU and their lawsuits against the school and how they have allowed CHF to force his beliefs on the players and the recruits. All they will have to find is a couple of players that felt as if they were unfairly treated because they didn't conform to the "Christian Beliefs" of the team. It won't matter that their issues were for breaking or not adhering to team rules, they just need to say they were treated differently by CHF for their lack of conformance to the Christian faith beliefs.
This is what I believed would put pressure on the school, well before any NCAA infractions, but having the NCAA on campus and the state fanbase feeding rumors and inuendo to the investigators sped that up considerably.
The statements from both LL abd KJ are both ambiguious and sound as if they were told the process. Hence, when LL attempted to enhance his testimony it left much to be questioned about his truthfulness.
What is sad, neither have gear or collaborating witnesses to add fact to their stories.
Of course the NCAA is desperate and appear to have no problem using their statements to get to the penalties they were seeking before they started the investigation.
This has turned into a shite show by the NCAA, state and the Ole Miss administration.
It could be years before this is over.

It ends when Freeze sues the NCAA if given a show cause. While the NCAA
controls this investigation, if Freeze sues the NCAA, all gloves are off. Ole Miss
might not want to see this happen but it should make the NCAA think twice before
pushing for Freeze's scalp.

It probably wouldn't be wise for Freeze to sue the NCAA. After Tarkanian took them to the chipper in the 90s, they beefed up their legal department, and they simply have too much money for an individual to win a suit with ease. They could bleed Hugh dry before it went to court, assuming Hugh hires a lawyer expensive enough to have a chance to win. For Hugh to get a show cause, there'd have to be some pretty damning evidence that directly links him to the scandal too you'd think
