From left to right
Little, Patterson, Conyers, Taylor, Rawlings
Is Rawlings going to be the guy at right tackle or am I missing someone?

They brought Rawlings in to be a center/guard but he played pretty well at tackle early on this year. I guess he is the most logical option.

I think they might move Rod Taylor to right tackle and keep Sims at right guard. Sims has been pretty solid at guard this year.

Rawlings does seem to be the early on favorite for the RT job. It will be interesting in the spring. There was talk of Taylor sliding outside, and I think he will at least see reps there for back up purposes. But if the staff trusts Sims inside, Rod may compete for that job, as well as Givens hopefully.

matt luke earns his money this year...talent eveywhere just coach them up and keep them composed!
I really want givens to contribute at RT next year. would be huge depth. Still need one JUCO or grad-transfer tackle though

I would take that kid from Michigan. What are y'all's thoughts?

Liggins will be our RT in the Spring, and I think we would like him or Givens to step up and be our RT if this Rod Taylor experiment goes as I expect it to. DJ said that outside of Liggins, Givens is our best tackle going into spring. Rod has the feet, but I will believe he is a RT when I see it. We would like someone other than Rawlins to take over the position because we need him to back up Conyers. I see his role being similar to what Conyers did last year, being a swing tackle and center.

I would too. I think filming a girl he is fricking without her knowing is far better than finger blasting some dudes a-hole. I just dont think we are that confident in it happening. He would need to do well on 20 hours of course work this spring and have the legal issues behind him. I think a little will be dictated on how well Liggins, Rod, and Givens look. If two of those three look SEC ready then we might just say the hell with all that trouble. At this point, I hope we take him.

i thought the coaches already decided to pass on him? thought the hoops were too small to jump through..maybe i read between the lines wrong on one of the payboards

Givens is a monster. There'll be some that freak out when they see a redshirt freshman former three-star starting some games at RT but he's currently our second-best lineman.

Second best lineman? damn man that's high expectations for someone that hasn't played..you heard good stuff from practice?
Posted on 12/16/15 at 2:40 pm to DocHoliday11
Yup. He's been dominant in practice physically and he's always had it mentally apparently. Givens is legit, we should all be excited about him getting into the fold.

What??? I'm calling B.S. on that right now, and I don't even have any evidence (second hand or otherwise) to contradict you. Little, Patterson, Taylor (post-surgery), and Sims should be better.

I'm thinking first game is Little, Taylor, Patterson at center, Sims,(or switch Sims and Patterson) Conyers back at tackle. That IMO is the best five for the first game on the field. Don't think season will finish that way.

Rawlings will start at RT

i just can't see patterson at center for some reason. I think rawlings or conyers will be the starting center and the other will be at RT.
Dark horse lineup if the taylor at RT experiment works out (don't think it will happen)
Little, Patteron, Conyers, Sims, Taylor

Question kinda off my last post. will we still try rod taylor at tackle with the little commitment? seems like robert conyers is already a center/RT swing guy and we will have rawlings (another center/RT swing guy) and then Alex givens at tackle depth. just seems like we don't need to push him outside unless something changes?
Posted on 12/16/15 at 3:10 pm to DocHoliday11
I guess you just wanna have a additional option in case Givens doesn't come along as planned. Also, Rod has the feet for it. He just isn't quite the size of most traditional tackles.
Posted on 12/16/15 at 3:14 pm to Doresrules
Isn't Rod only 1" shorter than Fahn. Not that height is the major issue with OTs. Usually it is feet and arm length that is the important attributes.

Matthews is our future RT... But this depth is making me get into the tent building bidness
