I like it. Texas footprint and should be a win. I would think we have a good alumni base in Houston and it will be easy travel for lots of folks.

It won't be a good game. We will destroy them.

I like it, a true neutral site game and can give us a good footprint in Texas.

Well I am not actually doing anything except going. But we will beat them handily. And it's a message board, where all we do is talk

Barring any home/home changes to the SEC schedule:

2016, 2018 and 2020 in College Station

2018 Texas Tech in Houston

2020 Baylor in Houston

I wish it were somewhere outside the state of Texas. Houston isn't exactly a weekend drive away, so there's no way in hell I'd make it unless I could snag cheap airfare. This game would've been awesome at the Super Dome.

I was talking about this with some people earlier, do you think these neutral site games give significantly more exposure than a traditional home and home arrangement with a P5 school? Considering how every game is available in some form or fashion, I can kinda see the argument that it doesn't, but I feel like the neutral site games by default get promoted as bigger games.

I think these kickoff games started off being huge and hyping everything up.

Now there are so many of them it's kind of dulled them a little bit. I would now prefer home/home so I can go to some new colleges and experience it there.

That being said. I'm pumped about the Orlando kickoff cause we hitting up Islands/Universal on Sat/Sun before our game. Have zero desire for the one in Houston.

I've got business partners in HOU. There's pro baseball. Cool zoo and an awesome children's museum. If you can't find something to do in HOU, you're an idiot.

Roger that. Will be heading down from Dallas as well for that one.

I have made plenty of trips from Dallas to Oxford for a fall weekend, I am loving these Texas games.

I lived in Houston most of my childhood (and my residence is still technically located in Houston) and personally I think Houston sucks, I guess I'm an idiot.

Houston is a solid 800 miles from where I expect to be living in two years (12 hours without leaving the Central), and I hate their Big 3 franchises with a passion, so I'm not at all pleased with the location haha. But mostly I don't like playing a Texas team at a "neutral" Texas site. It's not nearly as bad as our "neutral" opener this year, but I'll be interested to see what the allotment numbers are once they're released.

In comparison to the other Big 12 schools Texas Tech does not have a very big following in Houston, we should both get about the same allotment.

Really? I figured Lubbock was definitely closer. Still a long drive considering you wouldn't leave the state, but still closer than Oxford. Texas students are coming to Ole Miss in droves these days though, so hopefully it's a 50/50 allotment at worst.
