I would be pretty happy to get either Cumbie or Gilbert; especially Gilbert. It was the Big 12 but he produced a 2,000 yard rusher last season and developed a true freshman quarterback into a pretty good player. He can also really recruit Texas.
My opinion on this though is that Longo was set to be the hire this week until Freeze started starting hearing some of the backlash from the fans. I'm not sure if I should be happy that maybe he's reconsidering it or worried that he's so quickly started to scramble.
It also just gives me more and more evidence to say that he is in deep over his head. Why couldn't he have just gone to Florida two years ago so we could've gone after Justin Fuente?

Let's hope Chuck has no real sources either. I would love Cumbie. I'd like to see Luke leave, but I also pull for the Gamecocks so that would be bittersweet. His background would probably fit USC better though.

I've had a change of heart....LUKE FOR OC! he's a great recruiter and wonderful guy...this also allows him to hire a OL coach that can actually teach our kids to block with a spread scheme...plus freeze is gonna meddle in the offense and be the real OC anyway so this just saves us money...LIBERTY BOWL AIN'T READY

Exactly. We only pay HC's ridiculous amounts of money so Luke would coach Oline or hire his own inept oline coach. Cumbie is making 1.4 for some reason so he is probably out. What about the other guy at TCU Meacham? The guy at Memphis looks promising too.
