If we lose lebby, who are we targeting?

Any chance with briles or Brady?

Love to get a young offensive mind that can bring some wrinkles but is mostly on the recruiting trail.

Would also love to get cutcliffe somewhere on the staff

Word is Brady, Harrell, and Tee Martin are the three on the short list.

All three would be good choices. Brady probably adds the most creativity, Tee probably adds the most recruiting, and Harrell fits right into the middle

Highly unlikely that it's Brady. Think he will stay in the NFL.

He just got fired so he may not have many options there.

Off that list I would go after Harrell then Martin. Brady just doesn’t do it for me. He gets so much credit for the 2019 LSU offense but he wasn’t even calling plays

After thinking about it, I feel the same. Plus, the word on the street is that he sucks at recruiting. That's a double "no" for me.

I hear that about Brady, and if I recall he’s even publicly said he doesn’t like recruiting. I won’t lie, I’d enjoy seeing what kind of offense him and Lane could put together though, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that duo couldn’t pull some offensive talent in just from their names alone. Also, he was apparently on the record saying that he was open to talking with Kiffin the day after he was fired and the Lebby smoke just started getting hot.

Tee would be a stud hire and he’s an amazing recruiter, can’t go wrong there.

I genuinely don’t know much about Harrell and his coaching/offense. I did sack him once in a game in high school so there’s that…oh, and I vividly remember Marshay Green catching that pick 6 in the Cotton Bowl and I went wild and broke my Makers bottle during the chaos. It was worth it.

Brady sucked in the NFL. Carolina wasn't the most talented offense, but he had enough weapons not to look predictable and way over his head on a regular basis. Would not want him at all and he doesn't really add anything that Kiffin doesn't already have. Give me an up and coming rpo guy who likes to recruit. Everyone of our coaches needs to be a recruiter and that includes Lane.

Agree but not too green because green ones get their arse handed to them in big games.

Interesting article on Graham Harrell’s relationship with John David Baker, our passing game coordinator and TE coach:
USC offensive coordinator Graham Harrell didn't just lose an assistant when tight ends coach John David Baker accepted a job at Ole Miss this month -- he lost having his best friend on staff with him here.

"We’re about as close to brothers as you can get without actually being brothers," Baker had said of Harrell last spring.

Any thoughts on these other guys?

Warren Ruggiero (Wake Forrest OC)

Ryan Grubb (Fresno State OC)

Frank Cignetti, Jr. (Boston College OC)

I do NOT want Graham Harrell as our offensive coordinator. He's been in nothing but air-raid offenses and that does not mesh well with Lane's WCO.

That is the hardest of passes(no pun intended).

Here's one that hasn't really been thrown around....what about Kendall Briles? Arkansas only paid him $1mill last season on a one year contract. Pittman has the option to extend him two more seasons but Arkansas gonna have to break out some deep pockets the next few months with Pittman switching to Sexton. How much money are they ready to throw towards both Pittman and Briles?

I’m hesitant on Harrell for the same reasons.

I just don’t see Briles making the move from Arky to us, and some of his calls last season were real head scratchers.

Should be more than just hesitant. I don't see how those two offenses could possibly ever mesh. A big knock on him is he would fail passing the ball on 3rd and short a ton.

He'd likely be losing full play-calling ability if he came to us. We just need a solid recruiter and someone who knows the RPO. but we could pay him a ton more than what he's making now

Agree. Get us another Lebby. Up and coming OC from a smaller school that likes to recruit and is ready to take the next step.

Tommy Mainord at North Texas. Not sure about his recruiting (but has Texas and SEC ties). Could be an option.

Also seems like there is some chatter about the OC at Kent State

Has anyone heard anything about a possible oc? Who might be up for the job?

Best one i've seen connected to us so far: Andrew Souder

He's been an OC since 2017 working in that capacity at San Jose State and Kent State. He's young but has experience, a workable salary, and he's from Texas so a recruiting plus. Was a wr/te at Baylor in '07 and '08.

I haven't heard of any interviews or any real targets. This may be the most quiet search for a coordinator I've ever heard of.
