I got downvoted for stating the obvious in the baseball season thread.

I don’t understand how our talent level can be so depleted 2 years removed from a CWS title. We’re a top 10 program and probably have the capability of being top 10 in NIL.

There’s no excuse for getting out scored by fricking Hawaii in a weekend series.

He won't be fired though. He's retiring after this year.

6 errors through 5 2/3 innings for us tonight so far. Are these kids that hungover?

OK I'm in.

But who realistically can we expect to get?

I would say McDonnell, but Louisville has sucked as bad as us the past couple of years. They're getting beat by Connecticut and Indiana State and they haven't won a game all year.

State is a top tier program for a coach, and look at the clowns they've run through since Cohen left.

I am not sure what the formula is at this point.

There's always Cliff Godwin if McDonnell isn't an option.

McDonnell seems to be having the same issues as Bianco this year. Godwin is the answer.

ECU has gone to 7 super regionals in their program history. Godwin is responsible for 4 of those Supers.

We can easily pay him $2.5mm a year .

ETA: He makes something like $450k

$1.5 to $2.0mm with incentives would be a life changing contract for him. No way he doesn't come for what we could pay.

I wonder if we could get Mitch Canham from Oregon State. They are getting left behind and relegated to a weak conference. He's done really well at Oregon State and has them at #2 so far this year.

I think for the right price he would come here.

McDonnell has the stink of Bianco on him. We can do better.

It would be nice to lure Vitello away from Tennessee. It would help us and hurt them. 2 birds, one stone.

That guy is an intolerable douche. I hate his mannerisms and his culture.

I normally don’t give a shite about a coach’s personality but I fricking loath him and the attitude his teams play with
