I am not disputing that whatsoever.....but based upon people that know him and also knew Bo in Oxford....they think the guy is actually worse than Bo.

Coke isn't Fitz's DOC.

Also we aren't bringing in McGriff as a secondary coach. DC or bust if you want McGriff.

I assumed it was. Was told he was in "the party/bar scene" up in Starkville. I asked if he hung with the football team. Was told no and he liked his drugs. So I followed up with my 40ish Fatherly attempt to be cools "as in doing the Mary-Jane?". Was told no. Then was given a story about his overall level of douchbaggery. If 1/2 of the story is true the guy is a piece of work.

after the south alabama game, he went to one of my best (girl) friend's tents and was hanging out....he then asked them if they wanted an autograph and they laughed at him

So he was at a bar and my son's best friend didn't want to be "that guy". So he nonchalantly stuck out his hand and said "I am _____". To which he said "seriously.....seriously....you don't know who I am? I am your quarterback!". So they now have a running joke of saying that all the time.

I saw Bo Wallace verbally assault a girl at roosters years ago bc she didn't even recognize his name.

Why? Why is Ole Miss averse to firing these people completely?

Because supposedly he was actually pretty darn good at the analyst position.

What actually does an analyst even do?

I don't care if he's kept on the staff as long as it's in an off the field role.

They better pay him less.

Ole Miss needs to learn how to treat this like a business. Trim the fat.

An analyst primarily helps with scouting future opponents/self scouting, assisting with week day coaching, are eyes in the sky during the game and some recruiting duties (review film and on campus stuff).

Ben just tweeted this in response to a question. Just an opinion but fwiw:

Either Hugh Freeze is simply starting with assistants which he's already had experience with (*sigh*) or any possible new blood (Randy Shannon, Jim Leavitt, Random AL LB coach, etc) DC candidates have rejected the offer.

Getting turned down by a LB coach for a DC position in the SEC is everything you need to know right there.

I'm going to be pretty upset if that's the hire. That's not a position you can sacrifice for recruiting when your head coach works primarily with the offense.

I am not sure why anyone would be upset with McGriff. The dude coached the secondary for 3 years with the Saints. Then showed up at Auburn who had jack shite for DBs last year and turned those kids into a really solid D. Plus, we saw what Steele was capable of as a DC at LSU. I imagine McGriff had more of an impact on the Auburn defensive turn around than many realize. Hopefully he can bring in a good to great assistants to help him.

Also would like him (or anyone) to ditch the 4-2-5. Think that has limited our LBer recruiting more than anything.
