they have to sit out unless Pastner were fired or a medical hardship. LSU is getting a big time trandfer in Craig Victor, and while he will get to play for sure in January, his mom has been sick. Most think the NCAA will make him eligible from the beginning, but the NCAA always drags arse with these cases

Ak told Ben Garrett today that Marcanvis Hymon was redshirted. Ak mentioned Moody, Saiz, Coleby, Perez, Hymon, and Newby when talking about next years team. Right now the team would have nine guys on roster for next year when you count currently signed players. Neal had a source saying that we plan to sign Escobar but we could move on from him if better options open up. We have about 3 or 4 scholarships right now that are open for us to use.

A State writer on 24/7 thinks Newman is an MSU/UK battle, so I guess he eliminated LSU, Kansas, and Ole Miss after Howland was hired

I'm not saying State doesn't have a decent shot, but judging by Ben Simmons' recent interview mentioning Newman, I don't think it's a two-horse race by any means

Ole Miss sources are crazy about Malik right now. Ben Garrett has one that thinks it's an Ole Miss and Kentucky battle, he has another think it's Kansas. Neal McCready and Chase Parham both have different sources that think it's an Ole Miss, LSU, NC State, and Kansas battle with Kentucky falling off a little but that was before Howland was hired.

I appreciate that Shea Dixon doesn't pretend to be something he's not. I doubt these writers have any deep and legitimate basketball recruiting ties.

The LSU side is banking off Jerry Meyer, who's pretty damn connected and is usually accurate

eta: LSU side also seems to think Kentucky is falling behind with their depth at point guard. You don't hear much about Kansas, but I'm not going to ever write off a blue blood

Man I feel like Malik is just playing us all and will go to UK. I hope not, but I don't know.

But our guys think that UK and Kansas are falling back on the race. I haven't heard any State talk but I mean you can't count them out.

I just don't see it happening. That's not a stab at State either. They got bad as soon as the State's best prospect came around. If Stans was still there and State was still winning like they used to, I think he would have committed to them a while ago.

He likes State. That's obvious. He's keeping them around in his top 5. But he also likes winning and wants to win something before going to the NBA.

I've said a few times that I think he goes to Kentucky if Ulis leaves early and Briscoe goes elsewhere, which is highly unlikely. I think he likes Kentucky the most, but they're stacked at the position he's dead set on playing

He wouldn't consider Kansas and Kentucky if playing on a talented team wasn't on his agenda, and I honestly don't see how State makes the tournament. Teams always play out of their minds with a first year coach, but the SEC will be pretty stacked next season

Apparently he averaged 8.1 min per game in 13 games. Never heard of him.

Only time I saw him play was the exhibition game against Delta State.

I wonder if our 7 ft walk-on will ever amount to anything?
