Getting him would be a bigger surprise than getting Tunsil
Count him out completely

According to Yancy, he is being recruited based off of size and potential. He was not a full time starter last season and will take some time to develop. I don't know if that's the company line he is spouting, but definitely don't think Lashley is not near as good as Taylor or Patterson in high school.

If I'm thinking of the right guy, he's only started like 8 high school games total because of injuries.

I have no clue, but don't want our coaches to waste their time with him.

And then he decommitted about 3 hours later.

Lashley is a big time project but the guy is a really good athlete. Big men who can move are a premium and he can move. I do think he is ranked too highly though because the guy has played in less than 10 games and he was the starter in like half. He wasn't particularly effective when he played. But he will sign with MSU unless they pull his scholly.

That was interesting. I'm thinking the de-commitment was because:
1. Wants more money, or
2. Wants to take visits and not get constant voicemails from Dan Mullen on what a "commitment" really means, or
3. Both.

Thanks for the news (non-news) :)
After hearing about playing time/injuries and his wavering, I agree that our coaches should not commit too much of their time.

I thought Scott was a Bama legacy? Or am I confusing someone else?

Ben Davis is... But he's a LB

Nah that's not who I was thinking of. I thought it was Lashley. Maybe not.

Gonna go ahead and say that Justin Connor is special. Yeldon's fluidity, (laterally), and mentally-physical enough to cut a hole in half. He's what we're looking for out of Wilkins. I can't fricking wait.

Scott Lashley is the nephew of former Mississippi State great, Johnie Cooks.
I've never heard about injuries, but he didn't start all the games last year at T. He started a couple at TE. The reason people keep talking about his highlight video being a sham is because several of the plays circled are of a player wearing number 6 or something similar. That is him. He played TE and T last year.
I agree he is rated a little high, but with a good senior year he could easily be the best lineman this state has put out in years. Obviously, that's yet to be seen but he's not rated that highly because of his size alone. The guy is an outright athlete.

Holy hyperbole, DD

He may be good, but he has a long way to go in order to be better than Patterson and Taylor......hyperbole indeed.

Sounds like he is their Christian Morris.

Sorry if I'm repeating, but Rashan Gary is visiting Ole Miss in a few days. Scout #1 overall player and I haven't seen it mentioned on here? Any ties to the kid. From NJ. Would be huge to be in the game for him with Nkemdiche surely gone after this season.

So let me get this straight, kid has supposedly been injury prone, hasn't played but 8-10 total games in his HS career and he is going to "easily" the GOAT olineman Mississippi has ever produced.....I'd personally wait and see how his senior year pans out prior to throwing out anything close to such an accolade.
