Breein will be a star. If he's a few inches taller he's a top 50 player.

This team is a huge question mark at the moment. They're probably the smallest team in the league but should be one of the better units offensively. If Coleby wouldn't have transferred I would say this is a tournament team.

Finley
Moody
Newby
Perez/Gielo
Saiz

That's not a bad starting unit although I don't know much about Sam Finley. I think Martavious Newby is set up for a big year. For his size he's a beast on the boards and plays well defensively. If he can (and I think he will) average 8-10 ppg that would be huge. Need to see something from guys like Fitzpatrick, Escobar and Hymon off the bench. This is a typical AK bubble team that will win anywhere from 18-23 ballgames. The Pavilion is going to be so badass

Finley looked good in the scrimmage. I think we win 19 this year. We have a chance to play Virginia and if we can beat them, it's wide open.

Finley and Moody will score a ton of points. I'm very worried about our team in the paint on defense, though.

Gielo will improve our rebounding, but we still have no post offense. Saiz will help down there, but won't be Buckner of Holloway good.

This team feels a lot like our football team. Great offense. Ok defense. That's why I think we can beat UVA if we play them. We'll out run them and out score them. They rely on teams slowing down and playing their game.

Me too. Saiz and I guess Newby are really the only guys who will bang down low. AP and Gielo are both 6'9 but it seems like Gielo is just a shooter and who knows with Perez? I've always thought he's had a good deal of potential but apparently the guy is just lazy

Moody and Saiz are the two hard workers on the team. Perez is really lazy. If he'd put in some effort he could be a pretty good player. Saiz just isn't athletic.

I just really hate that Coleby left. I understand that when Kansas wants you it's hard to tell them no but he would've been a major contributor on this team for the next two years. Is he just providing bench depth over there or what? I can't see him getting too much court time. I'm not saying it's karma or anything but he did tear his ACL recently. Sucks bruh

He was going to get some minutes, nothing crazy. He left because he didn't like anybody on the team.

OK defense? We are talking about the Ole Miss football team, right?

Yeah we lack post presence currently and I think that will become a theme through out the season.

Luckily AK has locked down some huge guys this week.

Guys are like 6'9 6'11 6'9

260-280 range

A lot of large PF and centers for the future

The ok defense is more towards basketball. But our defense hasn't been great in football either. It's a good defense, but not like last year.

The Rebels lost their opener last season to Charleston Southern. Northwestern State is capable of spoiling two season debuts in a row. The Demons return four starters off last year's 19-13 squad, including the nation's leading scorer in Zeek Woodley (22.2 points per game), who paired with Jalen West (20 ppg) to form the highest returning scoring backcourt in the nation. Northwestern State was predicted to finish second in the Southland Conference preseason coaches poll behind three-time league champion Stephen F. Austin.

"We don't want to go through the same thing we went through last year and we also realize anybody can lose and one of those games can cost you going to the tournament," Moody said. "Most of all, it showed us we can't play with teams. We have to win every game we play." "It's a dangerous first game," Kennedy said. "I hate to bring this up. I had to use a lot of counseling to get this out of my mind, but it reminds me a lot of Charleston Southern. They're a team that's predicted to finish at the top of their league. …They've got seniors across the board. Coach (Mike) McConathy has done an incredible job of putting guys together and playing to a system. They're small. They guard the bounce. They have four different guys who can stretch you. -

Uh oh , sounds like we might be in trouble for a damn 4 pm game.

Watch out now

frick, I had forgotten about that atrocity. If you've ever seen Charleston Southern's campus, you'd understand just how bad it was.
