I wish AK would hire a guy with heavy aau ties in the south. I think he really needs to make a staff change.

He's an assistant on the team now.
He isn't my choice. I'd rather stick with AK. He's making some good strides. But until he plays the AAU/Money game, he won't attract big time talent.
But you can't tell me you wouldn't want to replace AK with a Howland like hire?

With each team playing a few more games than they used to and more DI basketball schools now, a 20-win season just doesn't mean what it once did. 20 wins is still a good season but one day not too long ago that was a lock the for The Big Dance. Nowadays that might not even get you into the NIT. 20 wins now is like 15-17 wins 10-15 years ago. Just sayin'

But we're not even doing that. We're playing shite on a stick. It's not their fault UMASS and Memphis sucked this year, but you have to schedule better opponents. Remember last time we got into the Tourney? We had a reputable SOS.

Last year we beat 9 teams that finished in the RPI top 100. This year we had 3. Sure this year we thought Memphis and UMass were going to be better but they obviously weren't. Ultimately it didn't really matter bc there just weren't enough players on this team.
I hope Neal is correct in thinking that AK has realized that this recruiting method of getting so many juco and grad transfers isn't sustainable. I'm okay with bringing a guy or two in if they are the right guys but damn I'm tired of replacing the whole team every damn year.
PS: Anthony Perez should get arrested for stealing a scholarship. What a useless 4 year player.

That dumb fricker had 1 point in his final game.
I know a guy who works for the team and says Perez is one of the best players in practice, when he shows up.

We really shite the bed earlier this season in that tournament too. We had a chance to play ok state & uva.
