Wilson Combat 1911 or a Luger. Flip a coin and I'll take it.

A SIG ... either another P229 or another P226.
Accurate, reliable, ergonomic ... it's the Cadillac of the pistol world.
Or either I'd try to find a genuine SIG P210 (Pistole 49) somewhere in 9-Luger, pre-'65. It's always been my dream pistol. If not one of the old models, my next one would be a 2010-14 P210 Legend series.

I had one for many years ... great pistol. I sold it for a ton of money probably ten years ago. Paid like $500 for it back in the 70s and ended-up selling it for $3,500.00 and bought a bunch of other pistols with the money.
It was a safe queen and I rarely shot it.
It's hard to beat a S&W 686 in that class, and I got the 686-6 Stainless for just over $600. They are going for much more now.
I may never own another blued steel pistol ... just to hard to maintain and keep from pitting in Southern humid climates, especially if you carry and you risk body salts finding the weapon.

I have my great grandfather's Colt .38 and the entire left side of the pistol is hugely pitted from where he carried it every day on his hip.

Who says that?
The most accurate production handgun in the world is the SIG P210 I'm pretty sure.
CZ makes great handguns and rifles though .... I love'em.

If money were truly no option there are a variety of custom 1911s that I would look into. If you meant that I was just willing to spend a lot of money I would consider Kimber, kind of a custom feel off the shelf.

I read it on a website last month. May have just been a promo for the gun.
I know top10 has that gun listed as best for the price.

I also wouldn't mind picking up a Colt Model 1917 to go along with my Smith and Wesson Model 1917 U.S. Army .45acp
