Obviously, an important aspect of any relationship.

Yeah. I'm friends with plenty of people from my rivals. I wouldn't put up with my wife indoctrinating my kids in State mentality though.

If she is really into sports, I could imagine that you have to walk on eggshells when we play seeing as how we hardly win.

It's not like having a guy friend that you can really just crush their face in it and still be friends.

Yes. Basing a relationship on which sports team your SO supports is fricking retarded.

I married a Georgia Bulldog grad...but I like Georgia any way. If Ole Miss didn't exsist, Georgia would probably be my team.

I married a Gator. Though, to be fair, she now arguably knows more about UGA (both the University and the football program) than most guys and has become an avid Dawg fan (much to the chagrin of her dad, my father-in-law).

When I was dating the wife, she looked AWFULLY good in a tight Tennessee t-shirt.

Granted, she would've looked a lot better in a tight Georgia t-shirt, but I was very happy to take what I could get.

I also think it's a very different thing to not be a fan of my team, which is perfectly acceptable, even expected, versus being a passionate fan of a rival team. For me, I wouldn't care about most, but right now it's hard for me to imagine dating a passionate fan of one of those 2-3 rival teams.

With my husband it wasn't an issue, and since I haven't actually lived with a romantic partner since he died three years ago, maybe I'm just used to doing things my own way for now. I'm sure love would make it inconsequential.

I don't think it would bug me, in the long run. Just add to the fun of the relationship unless one of the two is a total d-bag about it. Other than that, it could be a lot of fun.

fricking aye. No matter how much you love sports, it will never love you in return.

I am quite sure Herschel Walker loves me. As does Uga. They may have never met me, but they sense my brooding presence as a Georgia sports fan, and love me for it.

And please don't tell me otherwise.

I'm sure Uga loves you, but my 4yo daughter is his best friend. She tells us that all the time.

I can deal with it. the exception would be if she was an a&m fan but at that point the she would really be a he and since I'm not a aggie that couldn't apply.

that is the beauty of LSU not having a true rival

Yes I do. We cheer for different hockey teams, its fun.

We do cheer for the same CFL team though and she did say she would never date a Riders fan she takes football more seriously than I do.

It's just a game and definitely not a deal breaker.

I always preferred the ones that don't really care. I HATE when girls pretend to give a shite and sit their and scream things. I always got a long better with girls who knew that one of the downsides of dating me was Georgia football and to just let me get it out of my system.

I have dated girls who kinda care but only once did I date a girl who didn't like UGA and that was at PSU and it never really mattered. Idk, I don't think it'd be a deal breaker for me but it wouldn't hurt.
