It's also hard to buy the independent results because pissed off with the GOP super conservative =/= middle. In today's climate, it's a fair bet a disproportionate amount of "independents" skew conservative. A left to right scale would have been a clearer comparison.

As usual, an astute observation from my pedobear friend.

Ask me point blank "hey which party are you in and which news channel do you watch." my on paper answer is "independent and fox news," when the answer in actuality is "i'm an extremely conservative person who lines up with the Republican platform 60-70% of the time, but am disgusted enough with the 30-40% other stuff to not call myself a republican and i think all the cable news networks suck, but Fox news gives me the most tolerable news source due to my personal preferences. I can't stomach any of MSNBC or commentary beyond the news itself from CNN"

i could be stretching, but i would wager that it's not far off from the results.

There's enough of it to skew the results.

Also being the most credible news source in the cable news game is like being the fastest kid at fat camp. They're all nothing more than entertainment wrapped up in some information. Throw in the WSJ and NYT, and I suspect you'd see the cable news outlet squashed on credibility.

I guess there just isn't as many pseudo-intellectual types with an overinflated sense of themselves as MSNBC assumed.

Every fricking left wing wackadoodle liberal progressive socialist POS in this thread should bow-down and pay proper-fricking-homage to Fox News. You left wingnuts live in a dream world watching that pathological lying shite on MSNBC.

Anyone ever see an old movie named Videodrome? James Woods, Blonde?

One day MSNBC is going to become exactly that - and all you lefty wing nuts will get your due. It's just a matter of time now.

More people voted for Obama than Romney; I agree they are stupid people. quoted theory seems to work with those voters.

All of the MSM news networks are biased and present half truths and too many opinions rather than just hard facts.

I only get my political news from reputable online sites. Tv news is just horrible these days

They have better looking women, higher production values and more entertaining programming.

Now none of that makes them a superior news network, in fact I hesitate to call them a news network at all given that almost all of their programming is subjective and intentionally slanted political commentary. It does easily account for the higher ratings however.

MSNBC is just the liberal side of the same coin, but their personalities suck and it looks like they throw sets and graphics together with the budget of a high school lunch hour production.

Let's agree to disagree

Actually, on some real shite, I identify as a conservative, but I'm not brand loyal to news networks. I rarely actually watch news shows, tbh. Usually just collect from an aggregation of sources and draw my own conclusions.

All the major news networks spin/skew one way or the other, so pigeonholing myself into one or the other seems myopic to me.

All I know is Megyn Kelly gives me a raging boner while Rachel Maddow makes my dick want to go back inside for six more weeks of winter.

When voters were asked “Whose news coverage do you trust the most?” Fox News beat out all other television news organizations – on network and cable.
My hunch is this is because FOX actively promotes itself as the sole bastion of objectivity in news and routinely shits on the rest of the media as liberally biased.

That's why questions that ask "most trusted" are tailor-made for FOX to crow about. When a liberal or centrist names CNN their "most trusted" network, their answer likely doesn't imply some visceral distrust of CBS or ABC. When a conservative names their "most trusted" network, the answer is functionally equivalent to "only."

tldr: libs split their votes cons don't
