I have gone back and looked at all the names on the lists and I can't believe no one has mentioned Jeff Bridges.
The man went from "The Dude" to "Rooster" Cogburn and played both parts flawlessly.

I never really thought of him as a great one. He's above average though ... his best film, IMHO, was Against All Odds.
I remember him when he was a child actor on both of his Dad's shows, and he did bit parts in other shows back then. He was great in The Last Picture Show and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. Just so so in King Kong. I dunno ... come to think of it you may be right because he was on a roll there for awhile with 8 Million Ways to Die, Jagged Edge and Starman. The Morning After. Homerun in The Fabulous Baker Boys and then I think he did The Vanishing in there somewhere, which was Sandra Bullock's big breakout appearance. He almost overplayed Arlington Road and he was pretty damn good in K-Pax. And I actually liked him in R.I.P.D ... on second thought, you're right. He's been doing it for a lot of years and he's done plenty of other good movies I am probably forgetting off the top of my head.
You're right ... he's one of the best.
