Jack The Ripper and Black Dahlia. Jack The Ripper really fascinates me because it might be the most famous murder case in history yet there really aren't any good primary suspects. I personally believe it was Kosminski but my guess is a complete shot in the dark. Unfortunately, we'll probably never know who the killer was.

HH Holmes and his "murder castle" in Chicago. If you haven't read Devil in the White City by Erik Larson regarding his spree I highly recommend it.

I think Jack was killed himself or had to leave England right after his last known murder. I don't think he spent his intire life in London .

Book was good because of the side by side comparison of everything that was going on side by side with the world's fair. I mean in a time of chaos how easy it was for people to just straight up disappear.

I don't think anything was more sad than yours. You took a shot and now don't like it because someone else took that same shot at you. Last time I checked there was no requirement do leave out the year 2011.

The two that were in Baton Rouge at the same time. I believe I first heard of them through the OT Board a few years ago and a couple of books were suggested ("Blood Bath" and "Dismembered). I read them and they were both interesting, especially combined with personal stories on the OT board about the area or newspaper accounts from that time.

Manson Family for me.
I agree, it's the Manson murders that are the most bizarre and evil, imo. I've studied this case in the past just to try and figure out anything that hints of a reason for such senseless brutality. I'm also a Sharon Tate fan, and like many, I didn't know about her until I first learned of the crime.

Was that the Jewish butcher? The one they called "Leather ......." If so I believe that is the most likely culprit as well.

The Clutter family killings in rural Kansas in November 1959. A couple of two bit crooks botch a robbery and end up blowing the family of four heads off. I know it wasn't a serial killing, but it is still very creepy and strange. Truman Capote wrote a novel about it called "In Cold Blood".
