In lily-white mid Missouri, I shockingly was not

This was a Christmas Day Les Mis showing, though, so there were more and different folks than normal.

99% of people misuse this, including professional journalists and copy editors. You can probably read it in tomorrow's New York Times. But it's still wrong :

The use of Over when you mean More Than

There were Over 10,000 people at the protest. No, you moron. There were More Than 10,000.

It's wrong, but nobody cares.
