IRL Death hasn't made me cry since I was a preteen. Just doesn't really move on my scale. Even my grandparents who I was close to.

I did get a little bit dusty when a kid I had mentored and taught Sunday School for committed suicide, but even that was 10+ years ago.

Really the only thing that moves me is stories of great sacrifice or redemption.

I think the last time I shedish a tear it was when Jean Valjean died in the Hugh Jackman Les Mis.

Cried at my little brother's college graduation last summer, when my wife came hom from deployment last Thanksgiving, and when the Spurs made it to the Finals last year.

Every January 22nd and June 9th

My brother'a birthday and the date of his death. He was 18 so I always wonder what he'd be doing today and how much I'd lean on him for help. He was my older brother and meant everything to me.

It's hard because his murder was ruled a suicide. My dad still struggles with it, and I do too, but I try to stay strong for him. Happened in 1996 and still feels like yesterday. I miss him very much.

It's worse because he was killed in our own home and all of his valuables were stolen. All of them. Clothes, high school graduation money, etc

All of it

Yet somehow a bullet to the head and all valuables stolen = suicide. Not to mention the guy present went to prison a year later on a murder charge. And my bro was 6 weeks away from the navy.

Anyways, thanks for the kind words . Means a lot. I'm out of here now. Thinking about it too much.

When you say cry, does tearing up count or do you mean actually full out cried?

Yeah...seems pretty cut and dry. At least the people that really matter know what happened. Sorry for the loss and circumstance. Stay strong

Just depends.

July 24th 2013, 8:30 A.M. Oncologist appointment. Found out my Dad had stage 4. My Grandmother was in the room and asked the doctor if there was some way she could take his place. Most emotional moment of my entire life. He passed away three days before Christmas in 2013, but now it doesn't have to really be anything special.

Song comes on that I remember Dad liking, anytime I see an old chevy pickup, the most random things that just remind me of him. Couple of months ago I had to fix some plumbing in my house and didn't know how to do it on my own. I knew that if Dad was still alive I could have called him up and had it fixed in no time. shite like that breaks me down. Sat in the bathroom floor crying like a bitch.

When my Grandfather passed away in 2011. He was a prior service Marine and survivor of Pearl Harbor. There was a little joke he would use every time he and I would talk to each other, after I joined the Army, where he would call me a different rank every few minutes...until I came home from Iraq, then he only used my true rank (sergeant). He received a Veterans funeral and holding my composure during Taps was heartbreaking.

I cry pretty easily. Both at happy and sad events and even those military / family reunion vids you see on the interwebs from time to time. Those things get me every. damn. time.
