You're never going to use a toilet without checking under the seat again,

Seriously, do you spend a lot of time with goats or something?
Not anymore but we had them on the farm when I was a kid and seeing the walk on their hind legs in the dark just creeped me out.

I had no idea goats did this. That would completely wig me out.

Don't have any phobias.
Unless you count accidentally biting into something with mayo on it.

I've been threw a EF3(Which I know doesn't really compare but I get what you're saying). Spiders don't bother me unless they get on me, hate that feeling of one crawling on you. Talk about the ebejeebies.

Spiders. I can't even look at pictures of them or see them in movies. If I see a real one? I freak out, and scream while running in the other direction. It's an irrational phobia, yes, I know.
Truth! I make the most embarrassing squeal and run like hell when I see one.

Tornadoes are not an irrational fear if you live in the South East. Everyone talks about the Western Tornado Alley but we actually have a very dangerous tornado zone of our own called Dixie Alley and the ones here are often more dangerous because of our population density and that they're likely to occur at night (which is rare elsewhere) and in conditions where we don't know what we're seeing -- we don't always get the easy to spot funnel cloud. More often the topography, trees, hills, rain clouds and shapes make them too hard for anyone who isn't a 'spotter' to identify correctly. You can't hide/shelter from what you don't know is coming.
So no it's not irrational to have this phobia. I've went through a tornado and didn't know it until I went outside after the storm (it was scary as hell but we didn't know until after the fact). The one that hit you sprung small ones here that hit us that night (that one was a group of tornadoes) -- it brought people's stuff from as far down as Georgia and Alabama when that one hit all the way to people's yards in E. TN.

^^Jeezus Christ. If you add 'New Tornado Alley' to the larger maps (weather ppl make them slightly different) of Dixie Alley. You've got pretty much all of the West, South East, and Midwest covered. (It would go all the way into East, TN and Eastern, Ky!) Add in the nature of Dixie Alley tornadoes and we're all gonna die (ok maybe not but damn that's a scary map). And those of us who aren't flatlanders can't see these frickers coming at all.

You know I'd never even thought about the wait. The only thing predictable about weather in East Tennessee is that it's unpredictable. We have a saying, "Don't like the weather? Just wait a minute."
Thinking about waiting for days or even weeks on a Hurricane would drive me mad.
