Not that there's anything essentially wrong with cheap shoes, they serve a purpose. However, there was once I time when I was sitting in my office in my fresh Alfani shoes straight off the rack in Macy's and feeling good about myself and some dude that knew what was going on actually broke it down to me and told me what a good pair of shoes can really do for you, image-wise, comfort-wise, and budget-wise.
I hope I can do that for someone else today. Hopefully I can at least open someone's eyes to the real value of a good pair of shoes and that shoes don't have to be disposable like you've been trained to think.
I look at a lot of the deal sites out there (mostly fatwallet) and people had been throwing out compliments all over the place for AEs so I finally bit the bullet and paid the extra money for them. They really do look a lot nicer than anything I'd had before, are indestructible and are really, really comfortable. I've found the same thing goes for Charles Tyrwhitt dress shirts. Slightly more expensive than one off the rack from Macys or the like, but man they hold up well and look really nice.

OG Adidas Sambas. I'm bringing them back to the forefront.

When I'm casual, I'll wear a pair of basic blue lace up vans with either jeans or shorts. If I want to be a little more dressy and casual, I turn to a variety of Allen Edmonds wing tipped boots or my blue Banchory AEs with jeans. When I'm fully dressed up in a suit, I turn to Allen Edmonds wingtips as well.

Dress shoes- Nine West
I have a friend that swears by her Frye boots. I've thought about buying some come fall.
I also wear Nine West. Mostly flats though. I'm not a fan of heels. Lands End is another.
Outside of that it's New Balance for tennis shoes and a ton of TOMS shoes for just casual wear. I probably wear my TOMS more than anything.

Have some Columbia running shoes that I like , like assics and new balance.
Tennis like my Babolats but gonna get assics next.
Outdoors Muck Boots and Vasque, Patagonia mostly.

The last couple pairs of tennis shoes that I've liked have been nikes. I have a wide foot and they fit nicely. I also enjoy reebok's from time to time if I want a heavier shoe. For workboots, I enjoy Justin's.
