What's the simplest thing you've had to explain to a full grown adult?

A "competent" adult.

Yes, I stole this from the front page of reddit. Deal with it.

Once a middle aged woman asked me "What's a double cheeseburger? Is that like, larger?"
"Yes ma'am, there's two patties."
"Two patties? That's ridiculous. They'll sell you kids anything these days."

Another time an elderly woman asked me to pump her gas for her. Her husband had just passed away and had always done it for her. I showed her how so she wouldn't have to ask strangers anymore. That was actually kind of sad.

Well that one is easy. Butt plugs.

Although I could see how it would be common for most people to need direction on how to properly remove the butt plug. I can't hold that against anybody

I had a "friend" who was late thirties who had never pumped gas. Her former husband managed a rock band, and she was pampered. Didn't know how to do it. She always found people to do it for her.

I met a surprising number of people back when I lived in the dorms at A&M who didn't know how washers and dryers worked. Not just not to mix reds with whites, but actually how to operate the machines. I feel like by the time you are around 20 that should be a basic life skill.

I think the worst thing though was a girl I knew asking me, after the A&M cannon fired when we scored at a game, what we did with the cannon balls.

Tried to teach My Mom's Neighbor how to start his Lawnmower, he was about 35, and never did catch on.

I think the term is "educated idiot"

I just don't understand how some people make it so far without knowing basic shite. I can understand not having to learn some stuff, but do you not get curious and want to learn at some point?

I could cook for myself when I was 8. I was doing my own laundry and mowing the lawn at 11. Not because I had to but because I was genuinely curious about the world and wanted to learn.

Read my next post after that. It makes sense too because I learned about butt plugs from your mom. Then I taught your wife

So when you say full grown adult...and you refer to a "competent" adult, where do Bama Gumps fit in? I mean do you want explanations to retards?

Just seeking clarification.

By competent I mean they can be stupid, but no mental handicaps. So most Bama fans are out because children of incest usually at least fall in the autism spectrum. And if they were lucky enough to have unrelated parents then the lead in the Crimson paint chips they ate at the trailer park probably got them

Freshman year we had a teammate who didn't know what a dildo was... She actually called it a "gildo" Basically she got an education and a sweet new nickname.

How to load a dishwasher. One of my roommates tried to load a dishwasher. After the load was done, we had a dishwasher full of bowls, cups and plates all full of water, and a kitchen floor covered in suds. I taught him how to do it right and which detergent to use. He never touched the thing again.

Negative on that. I wasn't at a&m, so I did not own one. Even in her mid 30's that name still follows her, amongst our team
