Y'all doing a lot of meet and greets with the Tea Partiers?

I've had the opportunity to see a few speak living in the state Rand Paul is representing. He had several come in state (especially in the Louisville area) during his campaign. I can't speak for others though.

Ex gf and I went to a Swingers party a few years ago out of curiosity. Interesting bunch of vaginas and wieners to say the least, I'll leave it at that.

Well so far I understand the tea party is an amorphous group with no leaders. You can't know what their message is unless you are in the tea party. However since it is an amorphous group with no leaders either you can't join or you can just say you are in. Ya know whatever. Also don't believe anything any so called leader says because there are no leaders of this party that doesn't meet the definition of a party. But if somebody on this board says something is a tea party position you can take that as gospel truth. Also this invisible amorphous party with no leaders is distinct enough that you can give all kinds of demographic data about them like they are smarter than errbody, better educated than errbody.

I am so glad I spent my time in this thread to learn about the very important tea party instead of wasting it trading insults on the rant. I have literally tripled the amount of time I have spent thinking about the tea party in the last year in one thread. Awesome

Calm down buddy. From the Tea Party Website:

Personal Freedom:
quote:

We support policies that protect and defend personal freedom and individual rights, and the ability to pursue the American Dream without government intrusion. We also support policies that will reclaim those freedoms and rights that have been eroded through intrusive policies of unaccountable politicians and Washington bureaucrats, many of whom answer to special interests and lobbyists rather than their electorate.

We believe that our freedom is America’s greatest strength, and that any policy or action that restricts or erodes that strength is detrimental to the potential and growth of our country.

Economic Freedom:
quote:

While America’s founding principles began as a beacon to anyone running from tyranny, today’s permanent political class has become a significant roadblock to pursuing and achieving the American Dream. This has resulted in a lower standard of living for too many, and the general feeling of financial uncertainty and despair among those who used to believe in hope, sensing that their American Dream is far out of reach. Tea Party Patriots support greater competition among producers and providers, which will compel competitive pricing for goods and services. We support policies that empower individual citizens, not Washington’s insiders, thus reducing what Washington spends so more can remain in your hands; empowering you to decide the best use of your money.

Debt Free Future:
quote:

We support a debt free future because it is only fair and right to pay the debt we have incurred so our children and grandchildren are not stuck with our bills. When the government speaks about “raising the debt ceiling,” they are simply saying they need to borrow more money they won’t ever pay back. Continually increasing the debt of the United States puts an undue and unfair burden on future generations of Americans. It is fair and just to unburden our children from the national debt.

The solution is getting Washington’s spending under control. A simple solution to move toward a debt free future is the Penny Plan. Cutting federal spending by just 1 percent every year for the next ten years will cut more than $4.5 trillion from the debt. This means cutting just 1 penny out of every dollar the government spends each year. Requiring the government to spend one percent less next year than it does this year is a good way to get control of federal spending and finally begin reducing the debt. Ultimately, we need to make these changes permanent. To do that we must pass and ratify a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution which forces spending cuts if Congress fails to maintain a balanced budget once it is achieved.

Not a thing about religion, gay rights, pot legalization. So quit being such a penis.

From now on you may refer to me as massive penis

ETA I want to do a quick dissection of those excerpts so bad. They are just begging for it. Let me just state that they left out the part of supporting turning farts into rose scented rainbows. And the beauty and simplicity of their penny plan. Now if we just cut that one penny out of the military in five years we won't have one so I am on board.

If you can't be serious, Massive Penis, then I'm not gonna waste my time. If you can tell me why government continuing to spend more money than it takes in and pile up record debt is smart policy, i'll be happy to listen.

Might have been brought here by others. Not really an indicator. Rome ruled for about 1000 years, so coins not so rare?
