What do you have loaded in it? Do you mix rounds?

Scrooster please tell me that while you are blasting away you would be yelling "Get off my lawn ya sons a bitches"

If they were on the lawn the dogs would probably already be eating them and I'd still be asleep.

If they had somehow made it into the house ... nah, I'd not be yelling anything. Once in the house one must assume they are there to do harm to the family - the bad guys would never know what hit them.

But back to Hardy Har's, and other's, conversations about what to top your home defense firearms with - here's some of mine ... wonder if they know what they are?

We lock our bedroom door as well as the front and back doors. I'f someone comes in the house, my wife takes the baby (sleeps in our room right now) and the PPK .380 from under the bed into the bathroom and closes the door. I take the shotgun from the closet and start clearing rooms.

The one of the left could be quite a few judging from the pic. Mossberg, Benelli M4, or an 870. Hell, it could all be custom built too. The one on the right is screaming Benelli to me, but again, I can't be certain.

As for the rifles, hell, (insert brand name here). It's a varaint of the Colt M4. I have the same looking rifle with all the "gear queer" stuff on it and it's technically a PA-15 because of the manufacturer.

You built all that huh?

ETA: Those are some pretty weapons

Shoot the intruders. Load body in back of truck. Go to remote part if the farm while it's still dark...cut up body into numerous pieces and bury at random spots far from one another.

Go back to house and bleach entire rooms that he was in. Discard of pistol in the river.

I have a .300 blkout with the same optic as the one on the bottom..

I never understood flashlights on pistols or being used for home security. They make plenty sense if you and 3 other troops are raiding a house, but seem rather stupid for an individual shooter who doesn't yet know his target..

That and/or a laser sight. Why show the intruder where you are when you don't even know where they are yet. Definitely puts you at a disadvantage.

If you can't hit something without a laser, or know your house well enough to go without a light, you probably don't need to be going after said intruder either.

I'm gonna be in a small ball peeping out behind a piece of furniture about 2 feet off the ground.

I can't tell if this is a joke or you are serious.

I thought you were a bigger dude is why I laughed initially.

First thing I thought of when I read your post was a bigger guy in a catcher's position on top of an end table by a couch.

Rooster,

What is that shotgun on the left? That is perfect for what I want.

Also,
I noticed on your Acog you don't cover up any of the tritium.. Do you feel you have the reticle too bright? I picked up a trick of putting simple duct tape over a portion and it's not so bright and its easier on my eyes.

I sleep with an axe under my pillow, I would start swinging for their heads, hopefully killing them, and then call the police to report two dead burglars.

Flashlights on pistols or any other weapon are fine.. once you find the target... but no I do not advise walking around with it on. All my lights have grip controls. I walk up see someone I'll aim then hit the light.. then make any quick adjustments to that aim and then.........................

I AM the Police......and I would clear the house with my 10.5" SBR'd AK. I'd probably give them an opportunity to head for a door, but one step toward me or the stairway (my kids are upstairs) and they die.

I don't want to give anyone a target nor wash out my own night eye adjustment with light I guess. If I knew it was just one person intruding maybe, but joint attacks are always on my brain.

my dark room version is pretty good though.
