Correct. Credit scores are directly affected by use of credit accounts.

Not quite correct, in the past 20 years or so they passed a little notice bill on Capitol Hill that allowed credit score to be used for things other than credit. When you get a insurance quote it is now based on your credit score in addition to your driving and accident history.

Just another way insurance companies raise your premiums and their profits.

Yes, it's correct. If you open a lot of credit accounts, your credit score is going to fall.

What does that have to do with using credit accounts?

1) Get credit cards
2) Use credit cards
3) Change in credit score drops (because you have more than 1 card)
4) Change in insurance cost rises
5) ????????
6) Profit (well if you are an insurance company that is)

If you are a KY guy, call your KY DOI in Frankfort and ask if credit scores can now be used in what insurance can use to justify higher insurance premiums. Get back to me.

You said my statement was "not quite correct" and then went to a different, if related, subject. I'm trying to figure out why "Credit scores are directly affected by use of credit accounts" isn't correct based upon what you said.

I sold cars for three years and I can count on one hand how many bulletts (800 score) I saw. Everyone in this thread has an 800 credit score.

Mine is 613 but I have no credit I buy everything and get working capital from PayPal they don't run credit
