Paying $250 for an access code to an online book and "homework" access that automatically grades everything for a professor (that I can't sell back). I clearly got into the wrong business.

You always have to buy a newer model clicker because of their constant vulnerabilities to being hacked.

That's absurd. I would much rather have an incremental KY tax increase to help offset all of the out of pocket costs our teachers incur. Its not right. All the b.s. we burn tax money on instead of allocating it to areas it could be put to real use.

FWIW, it's for my college class I'm taking (I'm back in school for psych).
But to touch on your point, we shouldn't have to institute a tax to offset teacher out of pocket if money was allocated appropriately at a district level. A superintendent who is definitely not performing her job well (like in JCPS) shouldn't get an extension and a raise to $400,000 a year while she has to beg, borrow, and plead to fill teacher vacancies.

Agreed. I feel like the money is already there for the most part. We had a superintendent scandal here in Fayette a few years back did we not?

Let's add the medication administration training I'm in this morning to the list. Instead of the state allowing it to be online (like every other training) it's the same shite for 4 hours and for professional development hours (that I don't need). And I've been doing this training for almost a decade now.

I had a professor at LSU and he wrote the book for the course. He said and I quote "I usually change a few pictures and a few words and just out out a new edition every semester". The book was like $200 and that sucked.

As a parent with kids in college, I absolutely agree with you

Let's add to the list people who go to the County Clerk's Office to renew their tags but fail to bring in the necessary stuff from their car.

I had a professor that wrote the book for his course. He hardly charged anything for the text book. It was very nice of him

If this is becoming an official WGMG thread my post count is about to skyrocket
