I'm drawing a blank here, but props to the rest of your plan. I'm sure Mike Sam's would approve.

The anti-Valentine's Day responses in here are golden!

I, for one, find Valentine's Day fun. I enjoy surprising my wife each year on this date with something completely unexpected. Not only that, it has now become a fun time for my children. If you wouldn't like an old time barber shop quartet surprising you at dinner, well you just have a dull personality.

The snobbish and overly pessimistic attitudes about this "holiday" are rather sad.

Michael Sam (fify) would approve of a straight husband surprising his wife and children with something funny and unexpected during a very nice dinner?

Your comment makes no sense, on top of it being grammatically atrocious.

It's more cynicism than snobbishness or pessimism.

I do plenty for my wife and kids throughout the year to surprise them. They'll get over not getting something tomorrow. My wife has never complained.

So do I. What's wrong with doing it again on a designated "special day"?

I'll meet you in the middle with snobbish cynicism.

That's sad. Sucks to be them.

It's why I like you Killz. I think for most you're just misunderstood because you're a little out there. I for one find that refreshing.

Nothing if that's what blows your skirt up. It's just not for me. Luckily I married a girl that is in agreement with me about valentine's Day.

Honestly my cynicism and dislike for Valentine's Day goes back to a brief stint I had as a server at Olive Garden. It's the most miserable day of the year for those in the food service industry.

I'm not the one paying for a weird barbershop quartet to disturb other people out for dinner.

Other guests won't be disturbed, but rather entertained. It's two minutes of their lives.

Fwiw, I sometimes misunderstand myself. Especially when carrying on a conversation with myself.

It had honestly never occurred to me that there were barbershop quartets for hire. Where might one procure such services?

If you live in a decent sized metropolitan area, you can locate them using google. Just google "valentines barbershop quartet (city and state)" and schedule them to appear at work, restaurant, house, etc.
