Yeah, we don't have that in most of Colorado either, except parts of Denver. And all cities have that problem. And I'd bet ours is less than most.
But we do have a ton of incredible micro breweries. Some neighborhoods have multiple within walking distance.

There have been multiple studies showing that there is a significantly higher rate of drunk driving in dry counties.

The no Sundays law is what makes me mad. Not because of not being able to get beer. But it's only Sunday, which obviously is because of religion. That to me screams a violation of the separation of church and state. It should be all or nothing.

I'm just looking at the easiest to find right now, and that's a report from Mississippi in 2010.
Without delving too deeply, some of the top DUI crash fatalities percentages per county were in Alcorn County (17th), Leake County (10th), George County (12th), Monroe County (19th), Lamar County (28th), Neshoba County (3rd), and Pearl River County (2nd).
You know what they all have in common? They're dry counties.

Pearl River County (2nd).
I remember going tubing on the Boga Chitto (sp?) river, and the people I was with had planned on stopping to get beer at the last store. We stopped in Washington Parish. Apparently, such a thing as a "dry parish" exists there. To me, a dry parish sounds like an oxymoron.

the hypocrisy of the sunday laws is that you can buy at a bar or restaurant, but not in a store. They would rather have you out drinking and driving rather than sitting at home

It's especially crazy for people like me who live in St Louis, which is toe to toe with Vegas as the king of the least fricks given city.

I didn't even know dry counties existed until we joined the SEC
There's not a single one in Missouri. Missouri has the loosest alcohol laws in the country though due to Anheuser-Busch's influence.
ETA: It's even more amazing we have no dry counties when you consider Missouri is part of the bible belt

My hometown did not legalize alcohol sales of any kind until 2006 or 2007. The county itself is still dry. People would just drive to Morgan or Madison County, or to Tennessee, to buy their booze. It literally had no effect on consumption.

Looking at that map, I'm shocked there aren't more baptists in Kansas. Nobody has dry counties like that crazy state.

people deserve the right to live in a dry county as much as they deserve the right to live in a wet one
