Cable Internet is not that much better than DSL through the phone company (which we have through Comporium at 10mps). And the only reason we have that even is for Netflix and wifi.

We're about to have really bad arse internet fiber optic DSL out here on my end of Lake Murray and the farm ... MCEC is putting it down.

100mps or faster.

Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative has formed an affiliate company named CarolinaConnect LINK to provide high speed internet access across our service area. While the design of this network is ongoing, MCEC members are invited to indicate their interest in this service by selecting here(link is external). By providing your contact information, you will be notified as definitive plans are prepared for your area. Thank you for your interest in the services of CarolinaConnect!

Edited to add: Here's more on it.

$49 for 1gig
$89 for 3gig

We'll have it here soon ... they've already sent us the contract.

Yep it went off about 30 minutes ago. I thought I forgot to pay the bill. Glad to know its a widespread thing.

Maybe the apocalypse has started but it began in their offices?

Serves em right for the shitty service we get vs the price we have to pay. So can not wait to have another option in my neighborhood so I can tell TWC to pound sand.

We're about to switch to Time Warner because of UVerse going in and out on a fairly regular basis here. It's annoying as hell.

So I had set my DVR to record Nightmare on Elm St 3. Just tried to watch it, only to find out that an hour and a half is missing because the cable and internet went down.

Not as bad as Charter

Actually didn't Ave too many issues with TWC when I had them last year. Just made more sense to switch to DirecTV to bundle with my AT&T service.

I feel like as soon as they announced the Spectrum buy out, my TWC internet started getting really unreliable. A few times a week it just goes out for 5-20 minutes. Not a huge deal, just super annoying. Makes me miss Uverse, Suddenlink, and DirectTV but I can't get any of those in my apartment complex.
