In-N-Out makes a good burger, but their fries aren't anything special.

Five Guys owns the fries game son.

Pssshhh...don't they just have generic fat, crinkle cut fries?

InO fries are the best. I like thin, crispy fries, though.

Mugshots, The Veranda, and Restaurant Tyler are the best places I've experienced in Starkville.

Nope they have thin cut fries. You can either get them spicy or regular. Best fries at any fast food place.

I must be getting their fries confused with Kincade's ( another similar burger place I tried in Fort Worth).

I don't remember Five Guy's fries, but I only ate there once, sooooo...not surprising.

I'll give them a shot once they move in to Oxford.

In HS that was always our saturday-hungover-as-frick lunch spot.

It was really a pain in the arse to get a drink sometimes though. Also it caused the upstairs to smell sort of like puke at all times.

Didn't they have to stop serving booze because of some undergrads getting drunk there and then driving drunk and causing trouble?

When I went to Mugs in the spring of 2011, I remember having to present two forms of ID to drink at the bar.

They don't serve alcohol anymore? I was just there in October and had drinks.

I feel spoiled here in North Texas with all these burger places. Kincades is very average by the standards of the area. We just got an LSA Burger right on the square in Denton. For 12 bucks you can get a giant Chili burger, garlic cheese fries, and a shiner.

Yeah there are a lot of great places to get a burger in that area. My wife and I lived in Fort Worth for 3 years when I was working for BNSF.

Main things I miss since we moved away:

Food
Bars
Movie Tavern

Let's be honest here, they must have gone to the bad part of town or something to get these results (poor people who don't eat at nicer places). Because nobody I know would have voted in those places.

Best Burgers - Mugshots (Christys is good also)
Best Fries - Mugshots
Best Chicken - Veranda

It's not like we don't have great places to eat. I'm really not sure how people voted this way unless they asked poorer people on the other side of town or people just gave generic answers based on namebrand recognition.

This is kind of similar to when in Greenwood Captian D's got voted best seafood but Websters is 10x better.

Yea it's typical. People do these surveys and will pick a popular recognizable name brand..plus the common folk rarely eat at a real restaurant so typically they will vote for whatever is the best that they have eaten..when in reality the actual best food is probably a place that only 15% of the town's residents have ever eaten at.
