I have always been under the impression that it is wired in from birth. Outside stimulus in childhood only reinforces it. As homosexuality is usually not a learned behavior - species need male and female to further the species - so this personality may feed on experiences to grow what is already there.

The question is can you point to supposed emotional neglect as causation for someone murdering 7 people? Millions of people undergo varying degrees of neglect during their childhood but a very small minority document and carry out premeditated mass-murders. I think you can say it's certainly a factor, if not a trigger, but I don't think it's the sole cause. There's something else

The scariest part about that video (I only watched the first couple of minutes) is that I know a guy just like that. He Internet stalks girls he's attracted to and feels like they owe him their love/adoration/sex without any capacity to understand that the women have their own emotional needs and desires.

The family's lawyer warned cops a couple of weeks ago this might happen. Cops blew it off ...

Same thing happened in Columbine. All the signs were there and the local PD ignored it.

I wondered what this was about. How'd you do that? Just curious. Your post is over 6 hours before CNN released the wacko's name.

Although the authorities officially withheld the name at first, early reports posted the video and name as being used for evidence.

Obviously, not every kid who experiences neglect turns into a narcissistic paychopath. But there are clear environmental markers for psychopathy to be far more likely. A parent who does drugs, absent parent or an antisocial parent all seem to be part of the possible influences for psychopathy.

Here's a pdf showing his posts on a bodybuilding forum. Just goes to show that the next time you interact with a weirdo on a message board be nice, there is after all a human on the other side and you could set them off or something.

That's so true. There's nothing to be gained personally by being a dick to someone you'll probably never meet or get to know. But you can sure be a help to someone who needs a sounding board. I've seen it happen right here on the Rant (of all places ).

I've also seen us be tremendous assholes to people for no reason. The worst that comes to mind is that guy who worked as a contractor/laborer and complained about not being able to find work. Everybody shat on him.

It's okay, I feel better now and actually used that to do something more. I now drive a truck and making a 1.50 more an hour. Life is good my friend...
