I am much closer to what the Republican party was (course I am old) before it got taken over by the far far far right folks that popped out of the woodwork in the 80's and took control. every leftwinger says they are fiscally conservative but they all support higher taxes, more government spending and subsidies, etc, big government healthcare like Obamacare, etc.

If one is truly fiscally conservative it about getting more for your money in ALL government spending.
Democrats will spend 10 bucks for a stick of butter
Republicans will spend 10 bucks on a single bullet
I would spend 25 cents on the butter and 25 cents on the bullet while selling the excess to foreign countries for a dollar or two to bring down the costs for the US citizens. That is what fiscally conservative really means, find some old scottish banker and learn it is less about what you spend and more about how to keep most of what you earn to invest in more things.
The government spending like drunken sailors on anything (be it "liberal" or "conservative" pork) is just how deluded we as citizens have become on both parties picking our pockets.
Trump is nether far left or far right, he is a narcisstic personality and the link is to symptoms provided by the Mayo Clinic. Take the time to look over the traits, then look at "the Donald", and if you can not see the reality, they you have been sucked in.
