Does Obama not get credit for the cheap gas prices? I remember it was all his fault when gas was high.

The economy was supposed to be wrecked and gas prices at 6 dollars if Obama was reelected.

quote:

GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich this morning chided the Obama administration, saying the president has "a goal getting us to pay European-level prices" for gas.

"This president and his secretary of anti-energy, Dr. Chu, have as a goal getting us to pay European-level prices of $8 or $9.  Dr. Chu was clear about that before he became secretary.  He wants us to get to be a European-level price structure  of $8 or $9 a gallon," said Gingrich. "He said this week, in testifying in the House, he has 'no intention of trying to lower the price of oil or the price of gasoline.'  The American people on the other hand would much rather pay $2.50 and be independent of Saudi Arabia than be where we are today. I remember seeing bumper stickers about Obama and gas prices for years as well. So much ignorance.

No it isn't.

It's a rigged game by the elite. They like us to think our votes really matter, but the elections are won behind closed doors and favors/money exchanging hands.

Our votes go in the garbage bin 90% of the time.

Who is there to ensure they are really tallied for us? THe government?

Sure they throw us a bone once in awhile with a surprise "upset" but in reality it was just the politician ready to retire...they make it seem like he/she was "voted" out to keep voter confidence in the authenticity of voting high.

Sorry, but it's been this way since the early 90s and HW Bush. Just look at electoral maps prior to then and how much they varied..it's because the votes actually mattered and people chose who they thought was best. Since then, it's been polarized and the same states go the same way every election minus a few "swing states". Makes the rigged game easier that way

Don't act the left didn't do this under Bush as well. Both sides have their idiots...the President has little to do with gas prices. He can push for a tax on them or do his best to shut down domestic drilling..that's about it.

The current low price is entirely because of Saudi Arabia opening the tap and Libya coming back online.

So that makes it somehow less stupid than when Republicans do it?

Why does everything have to be republican vs. democrat or left vs. right? Can't we just laugh at all stupid people?

Once you really notice how empty and inept and pandering and condescending he is, you can't un-see it. It's not even political. It's personal. I loathe him as a person. His actual political views I believe are effectively nil.

Actually you just seem mad that I did point it out.

Gas prices were never tied to a presidency until the Democrats made it an issue to hammer Bush on, now every time we have a President and gas is high, the opposite side will hammer him for it and when gas is cheap the President's party will adore him for it. It won't matter R vs D President...it's just a stupid concept that people buy into. Presidents have no control over gas prices
