Im not talking about just fat, I mean 350 + pounds. I've only been back down here twice in the last 6 months and it's fricking culture shock.

Start extrapolating the financial cost and it gets even worse.

The poor are most likely to be morbidly obese. So they sit around and get diabetes. And heart disease. And they cost the system maybe $1 million or more in the last decade of their lives, just to maintain their existence.

They live off the govt their whole life. Never produce anything. Pay no taxes. And then they go out with a million dollar bang in their 6th decade.

And we wonder why we're $19 trillion in debt.

A very good friend of mine through the office is obese and his wife is also obese, so badly in fact that she had to have her foot amputated from bad blood flow to her lower extremities. Both have terrible diabetes and don't seem to care. They both continue to get Rt. 44 coke's and McDonald's just about every day for lunch. Both are constantly sick. I'll never understand it. FWIW, East TN is one of the worst areas that I've ever seen for Obesity and I've traveled all over the world. It's both disgusting and sad.

I eat pretty unhealthy, but I exercise quite a bit. Mexico actually has more obese people than America.

Dayum shame.

But I feel like that once they get over a certain weight, they just cease to care. Healthy food should be available for everyone. Alas, overpopulation strikes again.

Overpopulation has little to do with it. At no point in human history has "healthy" food been available to everyone.

It has quite a bit to do with it. People having children outside of their capacity to feed them is almost 100% the reason for starvation. In fact, you can't have starvation, or a strain on foodstuffs without there being too many people.

Never, at any point, did I say that there was, or even alluded to, or even gave you a reason to assume that I was implying that.

I bet you're fat. You seem like a fat person.

"Huuu I don't see anyone obese here. None of these people are bigger than me"

This CDC "Obesity Among U.S. Adults by State and Territory," map shows two distinct views of nutrition. The South and Midwest, where obesity reigns supreme, are sandwiched (pardon the pun) between the West and Northeast, where healthier eating habits are practiced.

The Deep South and West Virginia, home to America's poorest citizens, show a remarkable correlation between poverty and morbid obesity.

Or the fact shitty food is subsidized. Soy and corn is grown in abundance so we can fill cardboard boxes with fake food.

People are brainwashed into feeling stupid about having a big garden in their yard.

People are brainwashed against things like canning and food preservation.

The entire food industry and food distribution system is whack. The entire model is wrong.

Not surprised thinking beyond step one eludes you once again.

Soy and corn go to produce fresh meat. Not food that goes into cardboard boxes.

In many developing countries, a loaf of bread costs more than a full day's wages. If that person is lucky enough to have an actual job.

In the USA, you can feed an entire family of four with the average wage of one hour of work.

We have -- by far and away -- the cheapest and most abundant and available food choices of any society ever assembled on earth. And it's not even close.

You just don't know what you're talking about on this particular subject.

I have literally never met a single educated person in my entire life who thinks fresh food from a garden is a bad idea.

What kind of people do you associate with who think being self sufficient in growing and preserving your own food is a bad idea? I'm genuinely curious.

Careful with this one. He'll inevitably revert to calling you a shitty human and other dumb insults because nobody believes the conspiracy garbage he tries to sell

Oh and fakes suicides to get reactions. Almost forgot about that.

You mean shite, disease causing meat.

And yes, corn is used in all those never ending boxes of cereal and almost everything else that is fake food.

Those facts actually show how the food distribution system is wrong, more than right.

Crap is readily available everywhere in this country. And cheaply.

The average meal travels hundreds miles in the US, which is wrong.

The entire food distribution system is whack and built to benefit the crap/shite food.

You're missing it. It's not about being a bad vs good idea.

Of course people like fresh food from a garden. Duh...

The average mainstream person is pushed more to have a nice green yard with nice landscaping. It is 'weird' to have a big garden in your yard. Look around.

the stats that make south look more obese are per capita stats, which always make smaller population states look worse than they are. the large population states have thousands more fat people , thush obesity is a bigger problem there. they try to use the larger number of people as an excuse for it.
