Murder is a legal term defined as the unlawful taking of human life, if the death penalty is legal it by definition cannot be called murder. It's the same reason why calling abortion and hunting "murder" is simply wrong.

I'm sorry but the death penalty is the most backwards-arse thing America has going.
It's up there. We are the only so called "civilized society", other than Japan, that uses capital punishment.
Do you know where capital punishment is prevalent? The Middle East.
Civilized society? Ha!

Exactly. One person wrongfully executed is too many. I shudder to think how many people have been wrongfully executed.

In the case of the lady in GA last night, she was executed for plotting the murder of her husband while the actual killer got life in prison WITH the possibility of parole. What in the actual frick is going on?

Kelly Gissendaner, to whom I referred in earlier posts, was executed in Georgia just after midnight. The 5- hour delay was caused by last-minute appeals from her attorneys and pleas from her children.
She was executed for planning the murder of her husband in 1997. At that time I lived about 2 miles from the then remote site where she and her lover, who wielded a knife, waited for him to show up at her request.

That is messed up. They should've both been executed.

She wasn't there when he was murdered. She was out with friends while the murder took place, IIRC.
Either way, if there must be a death penalty, it should be reserved for the most heinous of offenders, and this wasn't one of them. I'm talking serial killer shite.

I'm not sure it's the MOST "backwards-arse" thing America does, we do a lot of stupid shite in this country, but it's damn close.

Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer visciously strangled people to death and thdn had sex with their corpses. Dahmer went the extra mile and cut them apart, storing various parts as trophies and EATING others.
We aren't the same as them for painlessly and peacefully relieving ourselves of their company.

1). Name one.
2). Why is it better to wrongfully imprison someone for life than to wrongfully execute them?

If she was better looking, she would have had a better chance at getting away with it. If she was even average looking, I don't think she gets the death penalty.
Having said that, if she'd confessed to it, she wouldn't have got the death penalty either.

We're not civilized compared to most of the first world.

If you say so. Tell me why Western European countries, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc don't use capital punishment.
