Sorry but if LA had a good public transportation system it would be a much improved city.

Why are you sorry? I never said anything to the contrary.

Why don't you figure out what I've been saying instead of continuing to argue against something I'm not saying?

you said they don't need the PT like NYC. I disagree.

I think they need it just as badly.

But they don't have it and it caused the city to sprawl out turning it into a mess.

Who gives a frick if they need it? I'm more worried about Texas kick arse and getting high speed rail first.

I'd love to see this entire country get a high speed rail system.

Well, I should have specified an electric powered high speed rail system dedicated solely to passenger transport.

Amtrak doesn't even have right of way on a lot of tracks, especially in the South.

I wish that we had high speed rail systems like Europe does, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

I actually figured you were being sarcastic

There's an Amtrak station around the corner from where I live that everyone likes to make fun of around here

Well Amtrak is actually a good way to get around in the Northeast. I took it many times to travel between Philly, NY, DC, and Boston. Penn Station in Philly is legit

We're done with that topic McRebel. It's transportation now. Get with the program.

Some how I feel like abortion, entitlement, and Obamacare have been slighted greatly in this thread.

I would say abortion is more of a hot topic in the south than gay rights.

There isn't a large gay population in the South, so many people rarely think much of it.

I've lived in MS for 23 years and have yet to meet a gay man. There are a decent amount of lesbians though but nobody cares about that.
