You're probably correct on the hypocrisy of groups that aren't outspoken on the us flag being burned, but there's a big difference between a private citizen doing something (burning a flag, flying the stars and bars, etc.) and a government entity doing something like flying the stars and bars.

I'd support South Carolina removing the emblem from government properties, but I'd extremely oppose any effort to limit private ownership/display of the flag. Hopefully that makes sense.

Im not talking about the state capitol. Just google NAACP and confederate flag. LINK

Again, I'm not defending any one action or personal use of symbolism. I'm just pointing out the alarming inconsistencies.

South Carolina ranks 40th in states most dependent on the federal government. When they mooch that much, they don't really have room to be asking everyone to leave them alone.

That is some well rounded logic.

Well, who's going to desecrate their state house every other year, though?

Gotta think about these things, bruh.

That Clemson bitch Nikki Halley just shite in her own nest today.

She said, "The Statehouse grounds belong to the people of South Carolina ..."

Today there is a huge movement to bust her twat for allowing Rick Perry to allow you fricktards on our state grounds ... so that will be coming to an end after one time. You can bet on that.

Plus her beloved statue of Clemson's Pitchfork Ben Tillman ... that will be coming down as well because he was the biggest racist fricktard of them all.

Oh, and frick all of y'all.

What that little bastard white fricktard did is beyond heinous. But for you fricktards to turn this into an anti-South Carolinian thing when we people of this state have handled this with tons of class ... frick y'all in the arse with the pole that Confederate flag flew upon.

... and your mother ranks 40th on the list of women who gave birth to major fricktards.

#1 - Hitler's mother
#2 - Jeffery Dahmer's mother
#3 - Ted Bundy

etc., etc., etc.,

#37 Joseph Stalin's mother
#38 John Wayne Gacy's mother
#39 Al Sharpton's mother
#40 Stonehog's mother

This is an issue that should be decided by South Carolinians. And was, in 2001, if my memory is correct. I find the intrusion by out of staters presumptuous. I would also note that this is a war memorial. That is relevant to the conversation.

In his list, 1 is least dependent. It's mostly nonsense. But he likes quoting nonsense.

I'm glad South Carolina is considering moving the confederate flag. It would be a tremendous gesture by the State. One that says intolerance is so 20th century and not part of 21st century South Carolina.

Didn't they only start flying it in the 1960s to piss off the blacks during the Civil Rights movement? Flying that flag at the State Capitol is no more a part of South Carolina heritage than black and white television, lava lamps, or smoking on airplanes.

Agreed.

One of the local media stations brought up some "concern" over the Commonwealth of Kentucky flag not being "diverse" enough. Until the recent issues with the Confederate flag being flown in SC and Mississippi, I had never even heard that anyone had an issue with it.

shite gonna get real if certain groups try to push to remove Henry Clay and Daniel Boone from the state flag. Especially if it's someone that tries to push that agenda outside of the Commonwealth.

I'm not saying this in a patronizing or condescending way in the least but ...

All it will take is for someone to walk into a building somewhere wearing a coonskin hat (sic) and both y'all and Tennessee will be removing all Crockett and Boone namesakes from everything after being extorted by the liberal fricks from all sides.

It is the country we live in these days.

White people are bad ... all white people.

Dead old white people are especially bad.

A rendering of two old, white slave owners on a flag?

Why does one speak of the splinter in his brother's eye, but takes no notice of the plank in his own?

Of course, I jest... somewhat... (and this is not directed at you, Belle)

And that's all I have to say about that.

Ah yes, the rewriting of history because a member of history was a product of their time.

So I guess we're just going to go ahead and rewrite history here in the United States until clear up until the 1970s I guess? And if so, you might want to take a nice long look at African Americans here who also owned slaves. But I guess they're excused from being "excluded" from history.
