Great, half the movie is a black screen. I'm really excited to watch black screen, what a racist movie

The movie doesn't come out for more than a year. I could tell you what will happen to those 9 people and your relationships with them over the course of the next 12 months, but that would be the real spoiler.

Supposedly Abrams has brought back much of the original trilogy crew and is very hesitant to use so much CGI as to try and capture the original feel again...it is Abrams though I'll believe it when I see it

That's why I put about 10. It would be 11 but my cousin died in a car accident a few years ago. Maybe someone else can't make it next year because of various reasons but please spoil it for me.

He did great with Star Trek, I don't know why this would be any different.

the light saber looked cool yet is ultimately ridiculous since laser like flames are rather pointless from the sides
Lucas has said in the past (although he seems to retcon things as time goes along) that the lightsaber was initially thought to be like a broadsword and needed to be hefted by both hands at all times (watch the Vader/Kenobi fight from A New Hope). As time went along, they decided that they could choreograph more interesting scenes if the sabers could be used one handed.
Using that line of thinking, there is some precedent for a broadsword style of saber dueling. For that style of fighting, a good guard is needed to protect the hands/wrists. Metal wouldn't work as a lightsaber would cut through it without an issue. Only way to make a guard to protect against a lightsaber blow would be to have the guard be a lightsaber beam.

Except there is about a two inch metal piece on each side where the hilt beams come out. I find that kind of dumb.
Love SW though and I'll definitely be seeing it.

Wait, I'm supposed to feel bad about my harmless comment because you knew someone who died a few years ago? Wow, Internet victimhood knows absolutely no limits.
Welcome to human life, kid.

Your harmless comment. Whatever makes you feel better about your failure to be an a-hole.
I am very well aware of life you fricking count.
I may be older than you.

I thought all the Storm Troopers were clones, I am interested to see how they fit a black guy into it. That should be a good story line, maybe they cloned a black guy to get another set of storm troopers.

This is about 50-60 years after the clone army.

They only ordered like 1.5 million clones and they need to control a galaxy. The US Army alone has about 1.5mil soldiers and that's not even the majority of the US forces. The vast majority of stormtroopers are regular people.

Han and Luke wore storm trooper get ups once.

Add to this that Lucas purposely had Jango Fett bang his head in either Ep. 2 or Ep. 3 to tie in with the Stormtrooper banging his head on the Death Star in Ep 4.

Ok thanks. I watch Star Wars, but am by no means a expert on it.
