From Saban's daughter thread it appears Saban is Catholic. Both Cal and Mitchell (and former coach Pitino) were Catholic at UK. Is this a trend in modern SEC coaches?

Updated from thread responses:
Saban
Cal
Mullen
Mitchell
Sumlin

A trend? No. Saban is of Croatian descent and they're overwhelmingly Catholic

He goes to Catholic church and bought a house very close to said church. At least 2 temples in Lex and not seen him at either.

Mullen is Catholic. Much to the chagrin of OM posters everywhere who still think he is a Scientologist.

The fact you have traced the lineage of your coach is spooky. Most of Europe is overwhelmingly Catholic. The new world exists mostly because people wanted to chose the way they worship hence people breaking away from Catholicism. Saban being born in West Virginia, on the East Coast, has much more to do with him being Catholic than being Croatian does.

Catholics are making greater in-roads in SEC country lately now that the KKK isn't out to hang dem damn papists, but they've been here all along to some degree. My dad and his sister and one of my second cousins actually attended parochial schools in Mississippi.

Cal and Stoops are both Catholic. They both go to Christ the King in Lexington. Cal goes to mass EVERY morning.

Hence the thread. Already learned Mullen and Sumlin are Catholic which surprised me.
